Bump with new question*lab results-SPR, do you have to get the results from your doctor
Or will the lab be able to tell you anything?
I called the ped's office, they don't have the results yet. Just wondering if there is any point in calling the lab directly?
*Bump-will the lab tell me if the results are in? I called the ped's office this morning and they didn't have the results yet (they were pending) and told me it should be a few more days.
I want to call back and see if they came in this afternoon but feel stupid calling the peds office so thought I could call the lab and they could say yay or nay?

the lab itself where you get your labwork done will not be able to tell you anything. I don't even think they get the results there, and even if they did, no one is licensed to give you results and explain them

it took them over a week to get my results the dr called it in for me and i had it one hour after i called to remind them

nah, the lab cant tell you anything. But, if its been longer than they told you...call the dr office. sometimes THEY can call the lab and get the results asap.

I would call up your peds office. I'm sure they have dealt with crazier parents over much more trivial things (like a scraped knee LOL)

I would call and ask to leave a message for ped to give you a call back.
Tell him what you are feeling...maybe he can make a call?

So, I held out and I didn't call again. Well, I did call but I hung up before they picked up.
I'll call tomorrow. If it is bad news-my world can shatter tomorrow for today it is still relatively in tact.

ITA.. I called my OB when I was pregnant and waiting for results. I explained how anxious I was and they agreed to call up the lab to see what was going on.

I don't believe the lab is supposed to give results b.c the doctors are supposed "interpret" them. I could be wrong but I think you have to get them from your ped.

I think once I had called quest for my gestational test results and all they could tell me was when it was faxed to the dr.
so they may be able to tell you when the results get sent. but not much more than that.
