bumpers in crib at six months?

I never used the bumbers in DS cribs, in fact there is NOTHING in his crib except fitted sheet. Now that he is able to roll and nearly crawl though he seems to be getting so close to it and I am really worried about him bumping his head. I have a beautiful bed set but haven't used it because of the risk of him not being able to breathe. On the one hand I'm thinknig its ok because he can roll now but then again what if he rolls into it and puts his face in front of it, he is loving to chew on EVERYTHING these days.....what did/do you do regarding bumpers with six month old?

My dd bumped her head lots of times, but she was okay. I did tho get the breathable bumpers b/c she got her leg stuck once. It was horrible. so went out and got those and everything is good now.

I don't know if it's right or wrong, but I have the bumper in. I feel like she may get her arms or legs caught and get hurt. There are many schools of thoughts on this. So I just figure she's old enough to roll and pick herself up. She should be ok.

We just used the breathable bumpers to keep DD from sticking her limbs out, and to keep the paci's in. Babies have been sleeping in non-cushioned cribs for centuries. They can't bang their head hard enough to hurt themselves. It hurts you a lot more than it hurts them... Chat Icon Chat Icon

DD is almost 7 months old. A few weeks ago, I found her on her side, in the corner, face and head completley pressed up against the crib, crying hysterically. If we had had bumpers up, I don't know what would have happend - she was in an awkward position and couldn't get out of it.
