Bunk Beds or Trundle Bed

My DS's share a room and it's on the smaller side. I'm thinking of getting them either a trundle bed or bunk bed.

My oldest will be 4 and my youngest is 2.5. I don't know how I feel about a bunk bed...I'm too afraid my oldest will fall or my youngest will try to 'fly' from the top bunk Chat Icon

Thoughts?

For me... I know I would not put the trundle bed away every day so it would just be the floor space of 2 beds anyway.
I would go with bunk beds or just 2 beds.

Re: Bunk Beds or Trundle Bed

We just bought all new furniture for ds in February and had this same issue. Well, I have a 7 month old so we wont have the issue for awhile but furniture is expensive so we were planning ahead. We bought a twin bed and a trundle under it but the twin bed we bought is special because it's half a bunk bed so if in the future we want a bunk bed we just buy a second twin and they will just come and put it on top of the existing bed but it doesn't look like a half a bunk. I have a headboard and footboard so if I get the bunk they send another headboard and footboard and will put the two headboards at the bottom since they are taller and the footboards on the top. Hard to explain...it's the my haven young America collection by stanley. Check it out on the young America website or at behrs they have it on display with the trundle under it. I think I'm going to just use the twin and trundle but wanted the option for the future in case and if we do get the bunk then they will have a bed for sleepovers.
