Bus Driver Gift
Just curious- those who have kids who take the bus and who give the driver something for the holidays- how much do you give? (money or GC wise?)
I'm trying to see if what we do is reasonable after something came up today.

DS only takes the bus twice a week and he has a different AM and PM bus driver. I was thinking of giving $10 to each.

I have two on the bus. Same driver all week morning and afternoon. I plan to give $25. He's really sweet, always makes sure the kids are seated before driving away, friendly, etc. My second grader got hurt on the bus and he actually called to see if he was ok after we got home.

Bus Driver Gift
This is my first time since DD in kindergarten.
She takes the PM bus from school to daycare and is the only kid who goes to that daycare which is an extra 20 min away. I will be giving a gift card for $15 probably because she is doing extra time on her route for my child but I think $10 is perfectly reasonable!

Ok well seeing the other responses I’m thinking 15 might be a bit low but there’s a matron also. All this is so expensive. What age does this end? Lol

I give $10 each. I have 3 different bus drivers this year (one per school aged kid). When I had two on the same bus, I gave a bit more.

We collect $5 from each family at the bus stop - I think there are 8 kids this year. Cash in an envelope, done.
It's not much, but there are so many people to give to, you can only do so much.

$10 GC but that is because my son has a crap ton of staff/teachers/aides etc that I have to buy for. If he didn't have that many I would do $20

Our drivers kept changing last year. At Christmas time, we had a very sweet lady in the morning. I think we gave a $30 Target card and some chocolates. I don't think we had a steady driver in the afternoon or what I gave. If we did, I probably gave the same. It's unbelievable how poor my memory is, I should make notes so I know what to do the next year.
I think we'll probably give a $25 gift card to each this year. We've had the same drivers all year so far.

Thanks for the replies everyone.
I can see it varies.
We have the same woman morning and afternoon for 2 years now. My dd rides the bus every day.
We usually give 25 either cash or gift card.
I also don't have a ton of others at school to buy for...just contribute to the teacher's class gift.
So for us 25 seems perfect.
Some people at the bus stop suggested we all go in on a gift but they only asked for 10 each and I felt like that was low for us personally so i declined.
Just wanted to see if I was way off base in what we give after hearing that.

I have two kids who currently take the bus once a week in the afternoon and I’m giving a $10 gift card.
When they took the bus more frequently last year I did $20.

I’m giving our bus driver a $15 gift card to Target and a small package of Lindt chocolate truffles. I bought a bunch of the chocolate packs at target for $1 each and I’m attaching them to all the gift cards for teachers/bus driver/swim teachers/etc.
DS is in kindergarten and takes he bus 5 days.

$10 gift card. I refuse to give more. I’m sorry, but my mom never tipped my school bus drivers growing up, and I think anything given is generous. Whether that is cookies, or any other kind of gift.
Having worked in schools and I only speak for myself, I expected nothing. I personally feel the gifting is out of hand.
