Once you get pre-approved, you can get a better understanding of what you can or cannot do in terms of purchasing. Good luck!

No problem! I still cannot believe I own a home, on LI, have been in it for 13 months, and DH and I both don't make that much money. It's still very surreal! I honestly didn't think we'd move out of my IL's for another few years and everything sort of worked out. Chat Icon

About credit- My husband had NO credit. He could not get approved for a traditional credit card because of it. He applied for a secured credit card through capital one. He put 100 of his own money. we pay it off every month. (his limit is 300, I think) After about 6 months he got offers of traditional credit card and we opened another. Once again we pay it off every month. We went for pre approval on a mortgage over the summer and his credit score is now in the mid 700's. I could not believe it. But all the hard work payed off.
