Re: Buying things on Impulse
I do this-- and figure, I can always return if I regret purchasing the item.. but, I really don't see it as a problem. It's not like compulsive.

There is a difference between a person buys something on the impulse JUST for the sake of saying so...and someone buying somethng and then realizing they dont like it or need it...
I so agree.
like to impress other people who they are shopping with or WORSE to even impress the people at the store
thats pretty bad!
I agree. Very bad. I feel that you can't live your life this way.
its sad, actually.....trying so hard to impress people.....even strangers
how embarrasing and ANNOYING it must be to have to return all those things....
sad life! full of materialisim...

Too materialistic. Can someone be so darn wicked to themselves just for the sake of impressing people?

Re: Buying things on Impulse
this is why I do it
b/c when i was younger my mom would make me wait for a sale- and when the sale came - my size would be gone
so I buy it- go home think about and then if I change my mind I bring it back
I wanted a DVF dress- I bought 2- knowing in my head I didn't need 2 black and white dresses- I looked at them again- tried them both on- and then return the one I didn't want
if I waited- then I wouldn't have gotten either one b/c they sold out-
I would rather buy and return and get what I want- then wait and not get what I want- does that make sense?

that's why i spend hours in the store---i do alot of thinknig.....thinknig...what will i wear this with, when will i use it
i DESPISE returning things....so annoying! id rather run a marathon than get in my car and wait in the customer service line
drives me up a wall...id rather keep the item & lose the $!

I do the same thing but at home- returning things doesn't bother if it's a store I go to all the time and I know I am getting my money back
I really only do this a bloomingdales, saks, or BR- not at a little boutique where I know they don't give you your money back

I buy things and return them all the time
edited- I return things I don't want Jake to see-not b/c I can't afford them
but b/c he thinks I have ENOUGH stuff and doesn't think I need another thing
Seriously, why are men like this??? I have a guest room and I use the closet in that room for a lot of my clothes. DH doesn't like it that I take up that closet. He says I have too much stuff. Um, I'm not going to throw away my stuff because he doesn't like that I take up the closet. I spent a lot of money on that stuff.

I am exactly the same way. I always worry they won't have it when i decide if I want it so I get it and then return when I decide.
