C-mas side dishes that can be made a day in advance...
Any ideas or recipes you'd like to share for a mommy who has 2 very needy children and is expecting 20 people for Christmas Day

I have two kid myself now...a three year old and a six month old so I am in your boat!
I do baked ziti....everything except baking it, I like it better this way, it "sops up" the sauce and all....I also precut all veggies (if you are doing veggies and dip), pre-cut cheese cubes, make dip, cut up green beans (can be sauteed in so many diff oils/sauces/vinegars - we like cider vinegar!), slice carrots (we just steam them with either little butter or lemon juice!), stuffing can be made beforehand and reheated, you can even do a salad beforehand!!! good luck!

Exactly. For me, it's all about prep.
I wash and cut all the veggie platter veggies and put in a bag.
I wash and cut all salad stuff and put in a bag. I actually put tomatoes in a smaller bag in the bag so the other stuff doesn't get soggy.
I wash and cut all soup veggies and put in a bag. See a pattern?
I slice the cheese for the cheese platter and...put in a bag!
I will make the pasta dish but not cook.
Basically, Xmas Eve is all about the prepping so that Xmas day is less stressful.
Also, I set the table the night before, lay out our clothes and have DH do a quick bathroom wipe down and light vaccuum Xmas morning.
