c-section

I have a question. I am having a c-section in February. I had one with my son but I had stadol in me so I was out of it during the whole thing. I am SOOO scared that I will move during the spinal. How much does that spinal hurt?

Re: c-section

This was my biggest fear....for I was a sched c-section too....

1st off...they dont "hold you down" like everyone told me... (at least they didnt me) I had to drop my shoulders and look down....the nurse just held my hands...

First they give you a local..which feels like several bees stingy you... I jumped during this...

Then comes the spinal.... it dosent necessarily "Hurt" but its VERY uncomfortable...not enough to bring tears to your eyes...but enough to yell ouch...

The thing is...its hurts for like 2 seconds and then the numbing starts kicking in....

It stinks but its over sooo fast!

Mine didn't hurt at all, that I can remember. THe nurse stood in front of me, held my hands, told me to hunch over to arch my back a bit, the anesteiologist was a real whip and talked through it all, totally telling me not to worry, I would just feel a pinch, and before I knew it, they were laying me on my back.

I had a spinal for my cerclage at 20 weeks and it was not scary at all, they sometimes give you a twilo in your iv bag which takes away the nervous feelings, it really just feels like a pinch and a lot of pressure, and the nurses hold you tight...
