C-section mom's.
I scheduled my c-section today and all of a sudden it feels wierd that I just chose DD's birthday? Anyone else feel this way? DD#1 was an emergency c-section so it was so different.

Re: C-section mom's.
Except for the recovery afterwards, I loved the c-section. I felt so relaxed with the Spinal Tap.

Re: C-section mom's.
Think of it this way: You never know if you'll go earlier. I was at the doctor for my appt to pick my c-section date when I was sent right to the hospital. You never know!

Re: C-section mom's.
I scheduled my c/s with my first because he was breech. He came unexpectedly 2 days after that, so it was a surprise anyway!
I also scheduled a c/s for my second, just in case a VBAC wasn't possible, and she ended up coming 10 days early too. You just never know.

Re: C-section mom's.
My DS was a scheduled c-section, but only scheduled the day before he was born (I was a week overdue). My DD was scheduled in advance and I loved it. I prepared myself at home and packing and loved knowing the day!

Re: C-section mom's.
Scheduled surgery is always a better option that emergency surgery. So if you know you will be having a c-section, best to schedule it!

Re: C-section mom's.
i was hoping to have him on 11/1 during my entire preg and i had to schedule for 11/2 b/c he would've been 39 wks and they didn't want to do it any earlier than that. i loved knowing so that i could get everything organized. i also only found out he was breech the week before the c, so i didn't have too much time to think about his birthday - just enough to calm my nerves
good luck!

Re: C-section mom's.
I refused to pick my girls birthday. I felt weird as well. So, I just told the nurse to pick the day & made sure the doctor I wanted was working.

Re: C-section mom's.
I do feel the same way--I had a repeat c-section in May, so it was scheduled. However, the surgery was ON my due date and so I felt that I didn't create that day myself, KWIM? Plus, the date had significance for us anyway. But any future children I have will definitely be born via c-section and probably a week before the due date. But I'd probably rather someone else pick the day...we'll see...

Re: C-section mom's.
If you know you're heading for a c-section and you don't want to schedule, why don't u discuss with your DR. about being able to wait until your water actually breaks to go in for it That way nature's able to take it's course, even though you're still having the c-section.
