Multiple c-section mom's....
How was the pain with the 2nd C? I'm so scared of getting cut open again, and dealing with the pain, I mean it really wasn't so bad the 1st time and I was up and walking around right away, but I'm thinking its going to be worse now that its cut open twice. My DH said it shouldn't be so bad this time since they are cutting old scars so it should be less painful. I guess I will just have to pray I heal as good as the first one.

Re: Multiple c-section mom's....
I can't really speak from experience, because I only had 1 c-section. But, from what I hear from others, it is way easier the 2nd time around. I think it is mainly because you have a planned birthdate, you can be prepared and mostly because you have a huge reason to recover faster...dc #1 still needs you!
Don't worry... I am not worried about it at all...(when my time comes)...
Congrats on your pregnancy!

Re: Multiple c-section mom's....
honestly for me it was pretty much the same as the first.. I was up and walking around the next day..but as you know everyone heals differently each time..I'm sure you will be fine..no worries

Re: Multiple c-section mom's....
Wow I have thought the same thing but I figured I am still a little numb in the scar area so I feel like the incision may actually be less painful since the nerves never really fully regenerated? I could be totally wrong - nice thought though-LOL

Re: Multiple c-section mom's....
Speaking for myself, my recoveries were tough I had lots of terrible gas pains in my chest/upper body. and my scar area, I guess it was the same with each one, but since I had more to do with each one (one more kid added to the mix each time ) maybe that kept me sore for longer.
Dont be nervous, as much pain as it was, for some reason I did it again and again, so it cant be THAT bad... it's worth it.
EVeryone is different so Im sure there will be responses where they recovered easily too!

Re: Multiple c-section mom's....
I found that my recovery with #2 was more painful, but quicker.
Try not to worry about it too much, the recovery will be over before you know it!

C-Section #1... AWFUL pain for about a month. Loved me some Percoset
C-section #2 - FABULOUS!!!!! Was up the next day roaming the halls. Within a week I was pretty much back to normal
C-Section #3 - Once I left the hospital it was like huh, surgery??

Re: Multiple c-section mom's....
This was what I was worried about the most, and I heard from so many ladies that it was a tad easier the second time around. Or even 3rd. It helped me to focus more on my VBAC, which I was very happily able to do

How were you able to do a VBAC? I asked my Dr if I could do it and he said no because of uterian rupture.....

I have a doctor who let me Seriously, I love my OB as much as my DH He told me the risks, like uterine rupture, and told me it was soooo little, compared to having major surgery and I was all for it. It was *the * best thing I ever did. 1000 times better recovery. FM if you have any specifics, I know I have posted my VBAC story before.

That is very encouraging to hear. I was nervous about the pain after another c.

Re: Multiple c-section mom's....
my cousin's 2nd c section was so much easier she said than the first. She was up and around alot quicker and she said it was less pain. She didn't even take pain meds when she was home the hospital-her 1st was the opposite. She also said it's different cause she has a toddler to chase around and lots more to do she wasn't thinking about it as much.
Personally, my c section was cake compared to my v birth

Re: Multiple c-section mom's....
I have been nervous about having more than two c sections.
But - we have a family member who had three - and she said the same thing as the above poster -- each section was easier to recover than the last one.
Still, it freaks me out and for this reason I don't know if I'll have more then two kids. I'm just really scared!

Re: Multiple c-section mom's....
ive had two csections. and my second one was SO much better then the first. i was up and walking right away and since the previous csection was only 20 months earlier, it was still numb and it didnt hurt at all. ive heard from lots of other moms also, that the second csection is much easier.

Re: Multiple c-section mom's....
Honestly, I think the recovery was the same, I just knew what to expect. DH thinks I was a lot better, but I also took a lot more pain meds this time I stayed 4 nights with the first section, 3 nights with the second. Mostly because I missed Katherine and was tired of being in the hospital. However, the entire experience was 1,000,000,000 times BETTER than the first. Again, I knew what to expect and I didn't go rushing off in labor in the middle of the night only to end up in an emergency situation like last time.
I really wanted to try for VBAC and my doctor supported it 100%, but it just didn't happen and I'm still a tiny bit sad over that.

Re: Multiple c-section mom's....
I didn't notice the pain was worse the 2nd time. Both c.s I was good about taking my meds - no need to be a hero there.
Sometimes you're just not able to go for a vbac so a 2nd c/s shouldn't scare anyone - knowing what to expect made it SO much easier. The fact that it was scheduled was actually great!
If anything, it was just a bit harder once home since we had a toddler and baby to look after, rather than just recovering while your newborn slept.

My second c-section was a million times better than my first. I had less pain and was able to get up on my own the first night, and generally recovered better.

Re: Multiple c-section mom's....
I had multiples but only Once Anyway, my c-section healed awesome no staples or stitches..they used dissolvable stiches on the inside and a clear adhesive on the outside. Hardly any pain..I heard it was like a plastic surgeon stitch .ask your doc about it.
