Re: C-Section Moms- did you have postpartum blues or depression?
I didnt have depression but maybe it was the blues? There was a lot of crying but I was crying over ANYTHING. I cired bc I couldnt get my wedding bands back on. I cried if she cried because i felt bad for her is she was upset, just anything like that. It lasted maybe a week or two

Re: C-Section Moms- did you have postpartum blues or depression?
I've had C-Sections both times and with DS #1, I did have the baby blues. They lasted about one month or so. DS #2 was born just over 2 weeks ago and so far I've not experienced any signs of baby blues or PPD. My doctor did say it could come on after a few weeks though.

C-section and PPD or whatever you'd want to call it for about 3 months

Re: C-Section Moms- did you have postpartum blues or depression?
I had a c and had the blues, in & off for about 3 months. Some great days, some where I was miserable & cried over everything.

Re: C-Section Moms- did you have postpartum blues or depression?
yes I did...BUT I think it was more having her 7 weeks early and having to leave her in the NICU then the c/s.

I had a C section, and I had a minor case of the baby blues for a couple of weeks.
Me too. I'm sure it was all hormonal but I cried for no reason for a good 2 weeks. It took me 6 weeks to really start feeling like myself again.

Yes. I had terrible post-partum depression. I attributed it to three things: 1)my hormones being out of whack from bf-ing 2)my pre-disposition to depression already and 3)my c-section. I say my c-section because I think it threw my body into a state of shock almost from not really being ready to have the baby. Normally, your body would release hormones and what not to signal labor to start. I had a planned c-section, so that never happened to my body, I was just thrown into labor, so to speak. So, in some cases, yes, I think c-sections can play a factor in it, but I think my first two reasons were the main ones.
This is pretty much my story except for the planned surgery part. In my case I totally planned on having a VB, but had to have an emergency c-section--completely unprepared for that. Add to the situation that DD was born on Christmas day and for the first couple of weeks I had NO family help and was literally crippled, it was pretty bad. I went on meds asap.

Re: C-Section Moms- did you have postpartum blues or depression?
I had a c/s.... DH went back to work a few days after I came home from the hospital, and never got up for the million night time wake ups, was gone for 12+ hours a day, and rarely helped when he was home because he was so tired. Cailen never napped. I think the blues came from all of that more than anything else!!!

Re: C-Section Moms- did you have postpartum blues or depression?
I had an emergency c-section with Alex, and yes, I had a bad case of the blues, but I attribute that more to the serious lack of sleep and tending to a collicky baby with virtually no help from my family. It was more the shocking change to my accustomed lifestyle that threw me into a depression, rather than hormonal or anything attributed with surgery. In fact, looking back, the ONLY thing that went smoothly was my recovery from my c-section - I had it pretty easy thankfully.

this is very well what i think i experienced too-the shocking change to my life, major sleep deprivation, a semi-colicky baby, and throw in a few hormonal issues too for me... my physical recovery from the C was actually rather smooth.
