C-Section scar care question

I was just wondering how everyone tookl care of there c-section scar. My doc did the surgi-strips or whatever (it is like an inside or underneath the skin stitch), and took them out on thursday, but the top seems to be opening a bit in one spot. I was wondering how everyone else cared for it? Scar cream? Bacitracin? Peroxide? Nothing at all? TIA

Re: C-Section scar care question

I was told to put Mederma on it by my OB to reduce the scar. Mine did not open up though.

I didn't use anything, nor was I advised to. The scar (twice over) is fine!

Re: C-Section scar care question

I was told not to put anything on it. But if you think it's opening, definately don't put anything on it. And give your dr a call in the morning.

Re: C-Section scar care question

Mine opened a little at 6 weeks and my OB said don't put anything on it. Just let it heal. But call your OB just to be sure.

Mine never opened. I use Bio Oil 2x a day and my scar has faded a lot so far, 7 months PP but it itches like crazy.

Re: C-Section scar care question

My dr told me not to put anything on it. I figured I'd leave it alone for at least 8-12 weeks but if it's opening at all I'd cal the dr.

Re: C-Section scar care question

I just had my second c-section 2 weeks ago.

I had my steri strips removed on Tuesday. The scar looks great.

If yours is opened at all, do not put anything on it. Keep it clean and dry. Don't let your clothing rub against it. Put a pad inside your undies to protect the incision.

Call your OB's service, and have a Doctor call you. They will tell you exactly what to do. Maybe they can see you tomorrow.

Good Luck.

Re: C-Section scar care question

I didn't put anything on mine per the dr. My scar did open up in one corner at 12 weeks PP. The doctor put sugi strips on it and it closed back up with no problems.
