c sections and getting up to care for newborn in the hospital (good sam)
I'm going to be delivering my baby at good sam. if i have a c-section, (or for those that had c-sections, etc.) how do you get up in the middle of the night when they bring you the baby to feed them?
is it difficult to move around and care for the baby?

It is difficult at first and you just keep calling the nurses to help you, anytime, that is what they are there for. I called them to just hand me my baby out of the bassinet before I could move, i've called them to help me to the bathroom, i've called them for just about anything. They keep trying to get you up and to move around even if its just to sit in the chair. By the 2nd night I was getting up and walking down the hall to the nursery to get my baby. They will bring the baby to you but that was my excuse to get up and move.

Re: c sections and getting up to care for newborn in the hospital (good sam)
I had a c-section at Good Sam in Aug 2010. The night was the worst for me because they wouldn't let DH stay over. It was really difficult for me to get out of bed because of the pain. When DS would cry it took me forever to get out of bed and walk over to go get him then I had to try and get into bed with the pain and holding him at the same time, it was torture. I was also breastfeeding and DS was having a hard time latching so he would cry and cry because he was hungry and I was trying to feed him and learn how to hold him the right way, etc etc. It was so much easier when DH was there to help me. Also, when I finally got DS to latch then he would be done eating I would hold him and then I would fall asleep because I the pain meds made me SOOOO sleepy. I would often fall asleep mid sentence.
