Re: Cabbage Patch Kids
Speaking of cabbage patch kids.. my SIL found hers while cleaning through her attic and decided to do some research. It was one of the originals, fabric face, not plastic, I think "born" in 79. She found out that a doll exactly like hers was sold for $25,000 (with all the papers and what not)!!! There is a place you can send your doll to have it cleaned, so she's considering sending hers out and trying to sell it.

OMG
That's hilarious!
I used to go to the "patch" at Macy's in the city. It was a makeshift hospital and sooo weird when I think back to that day...lol

Re: Cabbage Patch Kids
My first Cabbage patch kid was named Steven Artie. I was 7 and I remember my mom had to stake out Toys R Us and fight with other parents for the dolls. She could only get Steven, so she made me and my little brother share him!!! We loved him.

Re: Cabbage Patch Kids
I had Ron Ricky.
I INSISTED on a bald boy for my 5th birthday. My saint of a father tried Toys R Us, then got the name of a black market guy to get one. He had to meet the guy at a Howard Johnson's and had to call him from a pay phone there and he swear people thought he was buying a real baby, not a doll

Re: Cabbage Patch Kids
I never kept their names. I gave them names that I picked. I always though the ones they picked were just awful!

Going to the Cabbage Patch hospital was like the best day of my life!!!! I was in heaven!!!
I had Genieve Flori (she was the only one I kept her original name and she STILL smells like vanilla)
Nick Roger (preemie named after guys in Duran Duran)
Grace Catherine (after my grandmother)
and my koosa cat was Laura (after my stepmom, I bet my mom was excited about that one) Danielle (I liked the name)
