Call Me Crazy...Any Vacation Tips?
We just got back from a road-trip vacation to Virginia Beach with my 4 year old daughter and then 6 month old twins (b/g). It was a very low-key vacation, but we had a good time spending quality time together as a family.
We just booked a week in Orlando for September with the intention of a few days at the parks -- maybe 4 of them. The rest of the time we plan to spend pool side. Twins will be just 10 months old.
I know we are probably crazy.
Anyone have any airport/flying tips? Disney tips?
Thanks!

Re: Call Me Crazy...Any Vacation Tips?
We went to disney last year w/ 1YO twins and my 10 YO DD. It was a nice time. We did multiple parks and it was great. Just try to stick to their schedule as much as possible w/ napping, feeding, etc. As far as flying, my sister adjusted their bottle schedule a little so that they would be drinking a bottle when we took off to prevent their ears from popping. We all had phones, laptops and iPads loaded w/ silly little cartoons and stuff, but we didn't need any of it. They pretty ,much slept the whole flight there and back. Good Luck.

Re: Call Me Crazy...Any Vacation Tips?
We drove down to Fla last Sept with the trio and they were 13 months... they slept in the car without any issues and we drove straight thru. We only did 1 day in the park and I felt that was enough for them. We are going back again in Oct for 2 weeks I cant wait.
As long as you have things to keep them busy in the car for when they arent sleeping you should be fine....

i think for us driving to disney made it much easier. we went to orlando when the boys were 8 months. we had a fabulous time.. it was so nice, and they went on all the rides.. we are going again next year. and driving again!

We are flying this time -- we had airmiles and figured we'd take advantage of the fact that we don't need to buy them seats yet!
Did you guys use your own stroller or rent the Disney one?

I think we are going to Disney inthe fall also, but driving. We have wayyyy too much stuff we would bring, and i don't see how it would work flying and how we would carry everything through airport.

Re: Call Me Crazy...Any Vacation Tips?
We traded our timeshare, so we know we'll have laundry in our room so I can pack a bit lighter.
And we'll have a kitchen so we can shop and pack food for the day easily.
Airport security will be crazy -- it was crazy with just one kid!
Any of you guys ever take the autotrain from DC to Orlando?

this is why we drove we have a timeshare as well so we took so much stuff with us that we wouldn't be able to if we flew. like pack n plays, our double stroller.. which was a MUST..
but when you go to the food store when you get there, you can always buy the diapers , food, etc.. so its less to bring on the plane. of course you would have to bring enough for the airplane ride.
if i were to fly and had a choice on what to bring, it would be the stroller.

Re: Call Me Crazy...Any Vacation Tips?
I just plan to use the pack & plays the hotel provides so that's 2 less things. I've also borrowed high chairs for the week on trips when my 4 year old was younger.
I carry-on enough diapers, food, snacks for the trip plus one day and then we hit the store.
The one thing I have to figure out is the rental car. Wondering if I have to rent a mini-van or if there is an SUV that will fit us for a little less money.
