soft cheeses = anything with a rind.
As far as diet, eveything in moderation. My baby doesn't seem to have any lasting effects from my daily cup of coffee or the blue cheese dip I had with buffalo wings on a few occasions.

Fortified orange juice, breads & dairy are all very healthy for the baby. Just make sure the cheese is pastuerized before you eat it. My doctor said to stay away from anything that has a casing--sausage, salami etc. And the big fish that eat the little fish--shark, tuna etc. Sushi(as long as it is cooked) is ok--just make sure they don't prepare it by raw stuff. Congrats!!

imported soft cheeses like goat, brie and blue cheese (stilton, gorgonzola as well) are the big no-nos because they are made with unpasteurized milk. most domestic blue cheeses and blue cheese dressings are made with pasteurized milk so they are safe to eat. just read the labels - and congrats again!!
oh and my doc also said to stay away from cold cuts b/c they can carry listeria, but if you do decide to eat them, just heat them to steaming.

No sushi is a definite. I would say no tuna but then i would be a hypocrite b/c i do eat it sometimes just make sure its light canned tuna.
No soft cheeses, and be careful with cold cuts make sure u are eating from a place that has a high turnover with lunchmeats.
