Calling Card from Potential Buyers

We've had people looking at our co-op to possibly buy, and since we don't get home that early, they'll often come with a realtor while we're not here. So a realtor (not the one we hired) brought a couple over yesterday.

We came home last night and found our garbage can lid off the can (?), our co-op sheet crumpled up on the floor (guess they didn't like it, but that's rude), and the toilet seat up and the toilet filled with pee.

DH never leaves the seat up, and I was the last one out yesterday, and I know it was neither one of us. Pretty gross and just not so nice!

Chat Icon I would call your real estate agent and let them know. They would know who had the appointment last night. That is incredibly rude and unacceptable!

We did call our REA, though I don't think they're going to do anything to be honest.

I don't get how you can not flush the toilet, how is it possible to forget that step? The crumpled up co-op sheet on our floor annoyed me also. Just don't take the sheet if you don't like the place, or throw it out at home.

Good thing they didn't seem to like it--I'd hate to deal with buyers with manners like this!

Chat Icon Chat Icon Call up your realtor and let them take care of that. After the random agent showed your co-op, s/he should have done a quick walk through to make sure it was being left in the same condition as when they entered - incluidng checking the bathroom since s/he had to notice that the potential buyers used your bathroom.

I always walk through with potential buyers to make sure they are not making a mess....or worse yet going through the sellers things. You would be surprised at how nosy people can be when the sellers are not at home.

Tell your agent that someone from the office MUST be there for showings. It's unacceptable for you to come home to a toilet filled with some strangers urineChat Icon Chat Icon

Thanks Mrs. T, that's a thought. We were both pretty disgusted by this, and you're right. I do remember our agent walking around behind us and checking lights, closet doors were shut, etc. So this other agent should have done the same.

I don't mind people using the bathroom (it happens), just flush!

Exactly! There is no way that the agent did not realize a buyer was in the bathroom so s/he should have checked along with all the lights/closets.
