Calling dog experts
What kind of a dog do you think this is? It is one that I am considering for adoption and I think it may be part pit bull if not all pit. It is labeled as chocolate lab mix. What do you think? DH would LOVE a pitbull, his best friends have them and they are great dogs, It's just not the right one for me. The woman who rescued her doesn't have any more info. TIA!!!

There is no picture. BUT really so what if it's a pit. As long as you get it as a puppy raise it right it will be a GREAT DOG!

Thanks for the response. I hear what you're saying, it's just that I grew up with a lab and that is really what I was looking for. We live near the water & I know they are great water dogs. I will admit, that although I know pits can be very sweet & wonderful dogs depending on who raises them, I just don't feel completely comfortable raising a family with one. (We plan to have kids within the next few years. ) It may be irrational, but I can't help the anxiety I have.

Re: Calling dog experts
I could definitely see that dog being some kind of pit or staffordshire bull terrier.

Re: Calling dog experts
I don't know that it's pit, looks a lot like a lab puppy, but it's extremely hard to tell when they are that young. My friends Rottie had puppies with a mixed breed and when they were little they looked exactly like little Rotties - it wasn't until they got to about 3 months old that you could see differences in them.
See, cuz I'm partial to Weims it looks like a weimeraner puppy to me Which by the way, are also great water dogs!!
ETA: Whatever she is, she looks absolutely adorable

Re: Calling dog experts
The head makes me think it is a lab/pit or lab staffy mix. Be very sure that you can handle training a pit mix before getting this pup. They have different needs
Good luck & keep us posted!
