Camera in Room for C-Section
Can you have a camera in the room if you're having a C-Section? I know its a really stupid question, but I thought I remembered reading/hearing that.

I am pretty sure it does. Call your hospital and ask just to be sure

I think it is different in every hospital. We could take pictures but we had to wait until they told us we could which was after he was all cleaned up.

Re: Camera in Room for C-Section
I had one in the room for my Best Friends. I at one point asked the anesthesiologist if I could take a pic over the sheet and he said no but then said ...what r they gonna do? They can't take the pic back. So I snapped a pic of baby #2 coming out of her and lets just say it's not for the light hearted.
Anyway...They said no video cameras regardless but cameras were OK. I would up taking video w/ the camera too so

Re: Camera in Room for C-Section
My DH brought one in for my c/s and got the most amazing pic of Katie laying on my belly right after they took her out. We have tons of pics in the operating room.

Re: Camera in Room for C-Section
My doctor at Winthrop asked my Dh if he wanted a picture of me all cut open... He was kidding, of course... We had the camera in the room.

WE had the camera. We didn't take any pics until Andrew was being weighed after being cleaned off. There were no pics of me, at my request!

It may also differ by doctors. We were allowed a camera no problem. But no pictures until the baby was born. My friend's doctor allowed her husband to photograph EVERYTHING and I mean EVERYTHING. She had to be put completely out and he felt she needed to see everything she missed

Re: Camera in Room for C-Section
yes we were. Honestly some of those photos are on a CD that my husband has locked away and I forbid it to come out..some were very upsetting to me. NONE of the cuts or anything but it was just too scary and too upsetting to me to revist. I have some really beautiful shots of Molly nursing (no breast in photo) and of us seeing her for the first time.

Re: Camera in Room for C-Section
We took a ton of pictures when she was born... I took pictures of DH holding her for the first time. It must have looked funny, while they were sewing me up, I was taking pictures.

Winthrop said we could have a digital camera but not a video camera in the operating room.
