Can a baby's skin tone change with age?

I can't seem to find the answer to this...

Can it become darker/lighter and up until what age?

Absolutely, my second daughter was born with very dark skin and it gradually lightened over the first 6 months.

my DS always looked tan as a NB - not yellowish, but tan.

Now at almost a year, he's as pastey white as me Chat Icon. Embrace the pale.

Yes, definitely. My younger brother was born almost white and now is so dark. The pigment can take time to come in. I've also heard the opposite (born with more color and then get lighter with time).

YES! My DH is Guyanese. When he was born, his aunts and uncles called him the "white baby" as he got older, he got darker. DS was pretty pink when he was born, everyone thought he would have my pasty coloring. Well, he is getting darker each day it seems. He is def NOT pasty anymore.

Yes! My DD was born with very dark complexion and with very black hair, her skin and hair got lighter as she got older , now at almost 3 she has very light brown (caramel?) hair with blond highlights and her skin is really light, much lighter . ( not counting the sun tan she got this summer, overseas) . She started changing when she was around a year old or so.
Oh and my sister was blond with green eyes when she was little, she started getting darker around 3-4 YO and now she has darker (I would say medium but not olive?) skin and very black hair/brown eyes.
My brother had white blond hair and green eyes and he started changing around 2 or so, he is still very fair with very light brown hair and grayish/green eyes, but def much darker than when he was a baby.

My DS was also born "tan" & figured that it was his 1/8 asian background but now he is as pale as I am.

Yes, my nephew is mixed race and he was born pretty pale - he has darkened over time - I think I read somewhere that it takes awhile for the pigment to come in. My DD on the other hand has lightened since birth and is now pasty like her mom and dad so I think it can happen in both directions, darker and lighter.
