Can anyone else's DC lay in bed a long time when they first wake up?

I can't believe this is the same baby that would not go to sleep unless I was holding her and walking her around the house!Chat Icon

Now when she wakes up, I don't even know she's up! She lays in her crib, thumb in her mouth, staring off into space! She doesn't make a peep...and I only know she's awake because of the video monitor!! She can seriously lay like this for 45 minutes, maybe even an hour!!

Then, of course once I go into her room, she lights up and is all noisy.

Amazing. Anyone else's kid like this?

Yup! Samantha can just hang out in her crib for a long time.

We have a 7am "rule" in our house. We do not get her until 7am (mostly because WE want to sleep!),unless of course she is crying, then we go in.

This morning, Samantha was AWAKE before 5am and just babbled and played in her crib until I went in at 7.

As long as she's content, I have no problem with it.

Ryan won't necessarily be quiet about being awake. But he will chill in his crib for 15-30 minutes most days when he gets up. He plays, throws all his animals out on the floor. Talks to himself. Then eventually will start calling for me.

Samantha is so cuteChat Icon

See, Riley is completely silent- I wouldn't even know she was awake!! I guess I should be thankful for that!Chat Icon

ETA: waking up from naps is a different matter, however. She just woke up and instantly yaps away.Chat Icon

DS talks to himself for a while and plays w/ his lovey. He actually get agitated if I pick him up right away when he wakes up! He needs to take his time waking up.

James can lay there for a good hour, just talking to himself and making his way around the crib. It was heavenly this morning! Chat Icon

My son loves to come into bed with us in the mornings and cuddle and watch cartoons. On the weekends it gives us an extra hour in bed! We love it!

Ava is EXACTLY the same!!!! She wakes at 630-7 but puts that thumb in her mouth and just chills! Its sooo funny. Sometimes by 715 she starts babbling. I dont get her until about 745 unless she is crying of corse.
The latest I leave her sleeping or up is 8am.

DS will. DD will climb into bed with me and snuggle for a little bit and then she'll go play in her room until DS gets up.

he plays/talks/kicks for a half hour!

then he'll just lay on my bed watching me get ready for work for another half hour, then he falls asleep again, wakes up at the sitter's house and eats.

That is adorable!Chat Icon

That's nice that he's not bugging you to eat. The second I take Riley out of the crib she KNOWS what's coming next, and that's her bottle and SHE MUST HAVE IT NOW!Chat Icon

Yes, DS can stay in there for an hour just talking to himself. I usually don't take him out until 8-8:30.
