can anyone in the medical field help me?
My daughter hurt her wrist last night and I took her to an urgent care facility where they said she didn't break anything. Can you please tell me what this diagnosis means since I have no idea what the abbreviations mean.
"Injury NOS, elbow/forearm/wrist FX closed radius, distal end NEC"
The urgent care center forwarded her info to her regular pediatrician and apparently sent 2 conflicting reports. One said the xrays were normal and one said there was a fracture so now I'm confused and all the orthopedists are not in until Monday. They put her in a splint last night. Thanks so much for any help.

Re: can anyone in the medical field help me?
Not otherwised specified injury to the elbow/forearm /wrist
and
Closed fracture distal radius (bone closest to thumb) not elsewhere classified
Most films are reviewed first by the ER/Urgent care docs and so they may miss a minor fracture, most xrays are then reread by a radiologist who may spot the fracture later on. So, the initial viewing by the Urgent care may not have spotted the xray, but they may have on the reread.
