Can anyone recommend a fun restaurant for a girls' night out?
A few of my girlfriends and I are planning to take 2 of our friends out to dinner for their 40th. We are all mommies, so we rarely get out.
Can anyone recommend a fun restaurant? I would love to know if you know of a place to go on Long Island that is funky, like a "going out with your girlfriends" kind of place. It doesn't matter where it is, as long as it isn't too far out east/west.
Any ideas would be awesome, thank you!

Prime if you are going when it's still nice out and can eat outside.

I went to Prime last night - the steaks were amazing and I actually said, "that shrimp is so heavy" about the shrimp cocktail.
Painters in Brookhaven is kind of funky....and much less then Prime.

I went with a few friends to Barique in Babylon, it was delic and fun!

I agree about Melting Pot.
Just don't order the "boiled meat"  .
I went with a group of about 8-10 ladies and they have a little private-ish room off in a corner of the restaurant that we asked for.
I believe reservations are required.

Vine Wine Bar in Merrick
It's "different," as in they only serve tapas, paninis, and wine...but it's delicious and you can absolutely fill up. They serve little flights too with four types of wine.
My family went, and it takes a lot to fill us up  and we pretty much had to be wheeled out.
