Can Anyone Recommend a Good OB/GYN for me?
My other doctor left his practice and i was not a big fan of theirs as it was.
I was going to go to Dr. Hanuer since everyone raves about her on these boards but it has been a major PIA to get anyone to even answer the phones and I have read about the waits at her office.
I just want a practice with more then 1 doctor and one that has the doctor examine you. I use to have only nurse pract. examine me and I don't want that anymore. I think if I am paying for a doctor's visit I should see a doctor.
I have not had an annual in almost a year and a half and want to make an appointment.
I am looking for one in the Queens/Nassau area.

There are numerous doctors including high risk doctors in case your PG requires one.

I was just going to recommend Hanauer/Dolisi. They are by far the best I have ever met and sooooooo worth the wait. Some days I would walk right in. Others I could wait up to an hour. It just depends.
I also never realized how important it is to trust and love your doctor until I ended up having a c-section. They were so competent and even the staff at the hospital was saying what great hands I was in.
Good luck either way with your decision!

I HIGHLY recommend my doctor (and her entire practice). In fact I have referred a few friends (even my SIL) there and they all love it.

I would always make my appts before I left the office - but on the off chance that I had to call there - most times I would get an answer - but sometimes the phone would be busy forever and that would drive me mad!

They have offices in Queens (Howard Beach, Richmond Hill and Forest Hills) and Nassau (Westbury and Glen Cove).
Dr. Scarantino deliverd my son. Dr. Saad took care of me through most of my pregnancy and Dr. Manna started pitocin at hospital, did DS's circumcision and discharged us from hospital.
Love them all!

I started going to Barbara Hessel when I was prego , as an OB/GYN she is fine ,but her bedside manner is just horrible, so when I was at the hospital in LIJ I saw dr Raphael Reiss, he was so good, very gentle, he really listened and gave wonderful advice , I asked around and heard really good things about him from nurses and other women at the hospital and outside the hospital,so I am planning on going to him from now on, he has 2 locations:

OMG they are in Hessel's group.
I seem to remember Hessel's name as one of the docs who could of potentially delivered DS because they cover for each other at LIJ.

Dr Allen Toles he is with Women's Comprehensive Health. He delivered my boys as it near LIJ, a few exits before actually coming from the east. He was rated one of the best Obgyn's in that newsday article they were running and I was very happy with him.

I use Dr. Senrich in Lake Success. There are other doctors in the practice, I have also seen Dr. Wulwick and Dr. Divack-- they are great too. FM if you want info. They are great!!

I never had a problem. I have been very lucky with them.
I know there were getting another partner to help ease the requests.
I had to wait a whole day for the Dr to call me back but that's because I wanted to talk to her. I have been able to talk to a nurse in a much sooner timeframe.
I finally found a dr I trust and like. Dr. Dolisi ended up doing my c-section and while I felt "not sure" with him when I first met him, I felt completely confident and "safe" with him delivering DS. DH also met both of them, mostly Dr. Dolisi in the ER and he felt completely confident as well.
