I feel like every year or so I am buying new frying pans b/c after a while they get to a point where you can't get them clean enough no matter how hard you scrub. they either get burn marks or something - it just doesn't look right so I toss them.

well, i have a pair of non stick pans fry pans from Caphlon.
I do not use them often but i am very pleased with them. they seem very sturdy so i cant imagine replacing them anytime soon.

Bed Bath beyond sells the pair. I want to say they def. under $50.
i'll try to find a pic and price...

I've had the Macy's Tools Of The Trade set for 5 years and they still look like new.

However, I never use them to deep fry. Is that what you are saying ruined your frying pan?

I was under the impression that you are supposed to replace non stick pans every single year.

The Teflon starts flaking and that stuff is very very bad for you.

no - I never deep fry anything. I basically just use it for eggs and bacon on weekends and the occasional grilled cheese sandwich.

we currently have Emeril's non-stick frying pan and while it is a great pan, it looks awful! Chat Icon

Re: Can anyone recommend a non-stick pan that doesn't need to be constantly replaced?

I have a set from analon i've had for more than 3 years now and still looks brand new.

The key-don't use the scrub size of the sponge to clean it(even if it says you can-it's scratches it) and dont' use cooking spray on it (cooking spray is not meant for non stick pans-it glues itself it to it and is impossible to remove).Chat Icon

I have an all clad that I've had for about 4-5 years. It's in good shape. They key to any pan's longevity is not to use too high heat. I never put those pans above medium high.

I have caphalon and they didnt hold up so instead of I purchased cast iron pans and LOVE them!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
just be sure to put a lil oil rub on them after you clean them to preserve them.

I just got a set of those Greenpans, my mother (believe it or not) lugged them across the ocean for me last month. They are AMAZING. the food literally floats on top of the surface. I only just got them, but hopefully they will last for a long time.

eta...i also have Calphalon and providing you take good care of them, they are fantastic.

I'm a big fan of Calphalon's non-stick pans. I've been using them for years and have never had a problem with them.
