Can anyone recommend a photography class?
DH bought me a DSLR a while ago and it just sits there b/c I don't know how to use it. I would really love to take a class, but it would have to be one for a beginner b/c I am clueless. Does anyone know of a class like that? TIA
ETA: Preferably in Nassau

Re: Can anyone recommend a photography class?
I would not recommend the class at Nassau Community College. The instructor was nice and the price was right, but the instructor is not good at keeping the class from going off on tangents. Also, my class had 2 big personalities and he would allow them to interrupt over and over and they were able to essentially make every session all about them. I found it very frustrating.

Re: Can anyone recommend a photography class?
I know a few girls that just took one at through Lexi Bella and loved it. I am looking to get an SLR soon so that I can start taking them too.

When did you take the class? Were you in the same class with me and Tine73?

I take one in Manhattan... you should check it out at www.photomanhattan.com. I just had my 3rd class of 9 and it's really great!

I liked the class but felt I did not grasp most of it. Then I took the lexi Bella class and it really helped me.
I feel a "private" session is best to understand. Especially after you take "general" classes. Then you can zero down on your own camera issues and see what you did right, what you did wrong and how to correct it.

I've got the same issue. I just checked the Lexie bella website, all upcoming classes are full. Send them an email, they'll let you know when the next class is. I'm doing the same.
