Can anyone recommend a place in Nassau to get a remote car starter
I am thinking about getting this as a gift for my parents, but I want a reputable place.

Central, Sight and sound in Farmingdale on Gazza BLVD. is awesome. The owner Rich, is an ex- boyfriend of mine. He does great work, his truck was featured in some car stereo magazine. He's putting in my remote start and tinting my two front windows at the end of November. Tell him Nicole Gabriel sent you if you decide to go with him.
I got this referral yesterday when I posted a ? about remote starters! HTH!!

we got ours done at circuit city- althought then i saw our local toyota dealer advertising it for only $50 more.
1. make sure the place guarantees it if something goes wrong- since the regular warranty doesnt fix that add on from another place.
2. i you can get it from a dealer- of the brand car it is, at least if something goes wrong- its all the same place that has to fix it-

I forgot the name but it's in Hicksville on Old Country Rd. Between Jerusalem Ave and 106. We got ours there. No problems.

That's Parkway Car Stereo. They are great along with Audio Designs in Hicksville (on 106 where 106 and 107 split).

Many dealerships outsource this type of installation, and will make no additional guarantee on the work above & beyond the installer. If you decide to go with a dealership be sure to ask if they use an in-house FT employee....

yea I just called Parkway - I had no idea those types of places were so expensive! I got a quote for $450 for both my parents' cars. Best buy wants $299 for the kind that includes a keyless entry.
I got my remote starter installed at the dealer and it was $300. so I guess I got a pretty good deal after all since it is now rolled into my 4 year warrantee on the car. I assumed I was overpaying by double or close to double at the dealer.

my sister got it done two years ago on her jeep liberty, i think she paid $150. i wish i remember where she got it done... it sounds like the price has really gone up!!

it's probably like anything else - when demand is high, the price goes up. it's so cold now and with the holidays right around the corner, they probably feel like they can get away with charging what they do.

We got ours 2 years ago. Remote starter AND keyless entry for $250.

We've gone here with 3 of our cars, my Mom's car and sent a number of friends to Movin on Sounds as well. Everyone has been extremely happy with them.

I have been dealing with these guys for over 15 years...they do a great job and they really back their stuff up. If there's ever a problem, they fix it with no arguments or issues. I honestly won't buy any car equipment anywhere else and I recommend them to everyone.
