Can anyone recommend Behavorialist

We're looking for a behavorialist that accepts insurance.

We're specifically looking for someone to help my 3 year old (almost) overcome his anxiety re: food/eating.

Any help would be appreciated.

We're in SW Suffolk, but willing to travel.

I believe so! We were going to go at the recommendation of our pediatrician but decided to go with a neurologist for what we need.
I know that they take our insurance...which is Blue Cross Blue Shield.

Re: Can anyone recommend Behavorialist

We have had eating/feeding issue with my DD since she was 2. She is now 7. We have tried every specialist under the sun. Went through insurance and have also paid out of pocket (thousands).

We saw Dr Ruth Milaniak at LIJ. She took insurance and I really liked her. She said that we may need too look into anti-anxiety medication for DD. She said that anxiety is a huge cause of eating/feeding issues. This was about 2 years ago.

A few months ago, the Neuro brought up the subject of medication. After extensive research, I decided to give it a shot.

It has made a world of difference. For once in her life, she is practically "normal'. She doesn't eat a wide variety or huge amount, but she eats!!!! I can also brush and wash her hair, clip her nails, and she even wore jeans twice! I was even able to buy and get her to wear new socks or the first time in about 2 years...she has been wearing the same 6 pairs for ever!

She even requested and followed through with getting her ears pierced. She has tried on 2 other occasions and flipped at go time. She even cut her leg and wore a band aid. She has NEVER in her life worn one. None of this would have been possible with out the medication.

I highly recommend our Neuro's office. They have helped us more than any of the professionals that we have seen in the last 5 years.

I just spoke to an advocate today who mentioned Anthony Anzalone in Selden? He works at the Long Island Anxiety Care Clinic and they work with children. Check out their website.
