Can anyone recommend really comfortable shoes for work (I have to stand all day)?
I am a nurse and am on my feet for 12+ hours a day. I wear sneakers with an orthotic but lately they just arent supporting me enough. My feet are killing me at the end of the day. Can anyone recommend really comfy shoes? Thanks.

My DH has flat feet and does alot of walking around for work and he swears by Clarks. I finally bought a pair for myself and they really are comfortable. The ones that say Unstructured in the sole seem to be more comfortable but they are all really good shoes. My MIL swears by Ecco but they are very $$$ but she has lupus and these shoes really cushion her feet.

My sister (a stylist on her feet all day) and my cousin (an OBGYN) both swear by CROCS ........
My sister only wears them when her feet can't take it anymore b/c they're not exactly the best LOOKING shoes - but my cousin lives in them -

My BFF is a doctor, on her feet all day and sometimes has 36 hour shifts. She wears the dansko clog type shoes or crocs (I know she has the mary jane crocs, not sure if she also has the regular style crocs).

Born makes really comfy shoes. I have three pairs for work b/c I'm on my feet all day long. They have so much padding inside that it's like stepping into little mattresses.

Thanks for all your replies. I am going to have to make a trip to the mall soon to check these brands out.

Re: Can anyone recommend really comfortable shoes for work (I have to stand all day)?
I would NOT recommend Uggs for wearing all day. I have been in pain for a week and think it's because of my Uggs. I think I have a bone spur in my right heel. They do not have enough arch support and I hear now it's being talked about in the news.
ETA - I have a pair of Clarks and they are very comfy. I like Born too.

Re: Can anyone recommend really comfortable shoes for work (I have to stand all day)?
I am also a nurse...also on my feet the majority of the day ..for the past 5 years I have worn nothing but Dansko Professional clogs they are the best shoes IMO to do our type of work in...If you do get them though please order 1 size up from what you normally wear..my first pair I ordered my correct size (7=37) and they were a B**** to break in ..it took a couple of months.. I just got a new pair in a 38 and they are comfy with thick socks on from the get go....HTH:)
