Can anyone tell me about Cape Cod??
Considering going over the summer. I love Massachusetts. We have been to Boston but not really anywhere else in that area. What is there to do in Cape Cod? Any recommendations for hotels?
TIA
ETA...What part is the best to stay in? I was just looking...didn't realize there were so many areas

We stayed at The Red Jacket Inn but it was a little bit outside of Cape Cod....right on the beach though and very nice. They've since renovated it as well.
We were there for a wedding so we didn't get to spend too much time on our own but the beaches were great.

I have been going to Falmouth Heights Cape Cod my whole life! Its very nice, great food, beaches and a boat ride away from Martha's Vinyard....I have never stayed in a hotel , so I cant tell you about those but there are many houses for rent

MIL has a house in Chatham. I love it there. We tend to go to Nauset Beach (in Orleans), walk around Provincetown, and spend a few hours in Welfleet. Chatham Bars Inn is supposed to be really nice, but I think it's pretty $$$.

We stayed in Hyannis - it was a family oriented town, we loved it.
I cant remember the name of the place.

My family used to rent a condo every year for about 6 or 7 years at the cape - we rented at ocean edge. We would go and walk around Chatham which is a cute town, there is a nice playhouse there and we have seen several shows (plus a one man show years ago with Spalding Gray), we used to go to the beach, rent bikes and there are many trails to ride on, we would go on a whale watch which was really interesting.

DH and I went for a week last year and were bored out of our minds - We actually came home early, and spent the rest of our week out East on LI -
We also didn't realize it's basically the size of LI - so from A-B you're driving for over an hour ..........and I wasn't impressed with any of the beaches -
People rave about it though, I was not at all impressed -

People rave about it though, I was not at all impressed -
I agree!! Dh and I went there two years ago and where pretty bored. We took a ferry over to Martha's Vineyard one day which was nice, but everything was so expensive. The other days we went to the beach or walked around town. I would of rathered gone some where else, but we like to try new places.

I went before I met DH and stayed in Falmouth.
I just went for a long weekend...spent a day in Falmouth, a day on Martha's Vineyard and a day at Wood's Hole.
I truly enjoyed it...and I was alone. I brought my bike and biked all over the place. It is truly a beautiful area and the restaurant are great.
I do agree with the poster that said it's a long drive from town to town. I had actually planned on going all the way Chatham but it took so long I ended up just stopping in Falmouth.
