Can anyone tell me what cake pop maker is best?
I am making 60 cake pops for a party in 2 weeks. I want to practice starting tonight and was wondering if anyone knew what cake pop maker was better?
I just bought the Bella one from target but I keep hearing about the baby cakes one. Can someone tell me if one is better than the other?
Also mini poll..
I have a question I am not a big fan of traditional cakepops. I dont like that wet cake taste. I like the way they come out in a maker because it tastes more like cake. But I am making these for a party not myself haha!...so your opinions are appreciated. If traditional wins than no need to use the cakepop maker.
Traditional Cake pops or in the cakepop maker??

I'm a fan of the gooey traditional ones you make by hand.

I like the traditional ones. THose makers never work and are a waste.
I don't like gooey cake pops. Use a very small amount of frosting- 1/3 cup at most and they will be fine.

I don't like the traditional ones...to sweet and messy for me. I use the babycakes machine and it works great. You just have to make sure not to put to much in or it will overflow. Just do a few test runs. they taste like little munchkins!

Speaking of munchkins I have seen people get the "cake"style munchkins from DUnkin doughnuts and cheat.

If I heard there was going to be cake pops, I would be disappointed if it was jut cake in a pop form. I like them moist, but if they are goopy then the ratio is off.

Agreed. I have the babycakes cake pop maker, but I never use it. They are a completely different end result, IMO.
I guess you could FILL the cake pops with icing or filling of some sort, but that's just as messy and time consuming as rolling them by hand.
ETA: I also only add a little icing. I know a lot of recipes say to use almost a can of icing, but we never use nearly that much. They are too moist and fall apart. Just add the icing little by little until you can form a pretty solid ball.

This was going to be my answer word for word. I got the maker as a gift for christmas last year and almost returned it. DH said we should try it out- so we did and we LOVE it. It's easy, quick and they are delicious!

You can definitely freeze the balls before you dip them, so you can make those in advance. But I wouldn't dip them more than 2-3 days out from the party. If you keep changing up the temperatures, the chocolate can crack.
