Best Ice Cream Cake?
I want an ice cream cake for my birthday - no actual cake, just ice cream!
Which has the best? Carvel? Baskin Robbins? Stone Cold? Someone else?
I'm also thinking of something seasonal or even Fudgie the Whale LOL
What ones do you like?

Re: Best Ice Cream Cake?
oh, I have strong opinions on this topic
this sophistocated foodie's favorite cake is fudgey the whale (with 2 layers of chocolate icecream, no vanilla) and extra crunchies (carvel)

I like Friendly's or baskin Robbins. I used to LOVE Carvel, but the last few we got were nasty. I think they had been sitting a long time

Wow you too! I chalked it up to bad luck. I'm going to have to try Trader Joe's!
Happy early Birthday!

Re: Best Ice Cream Cake?
Not a fan of the traditional carvel cake I did get one recently that was covered in fudge and crunchies that was pretty good
But i think baskin robbins has the best icecream cakes and they actually have cake in them as well

Re: Best Ice Cream Cake?
I can never choose between baskin robins and carvel.
Love that the baskin robins cakes have actual CAKE in them - but then again I love crunchies.
Think you can buy just crunchies from carvel and give them to the people at baskin robbins to put in the ice cream?

Re: Best Ice Cream Cake?
In Bay Shore (and Now In East Islip) there is a great Ice Cream Shop called Coyles.
Coyles makes the most AMAZING, AWESOME, TO DIE FOR ice cream cakes ever.
I like the Chocolate Raspberry and the Mississippi Mud Pie.. but there is nothing in the world that comes close to the Banana Split Cake. It's all different ice creams, chunks of banana, real cherries, pieces of strawberries, nuts and frozen hot fudge. My guests go ape when I serve it.

Re: Best Ice Cream Cake?
I'm not usually a fan of ice cream in general - or ice cream cake but I have to say, I enjoyed the Baskin-Robbins cake the most. It had actual sponge chocolate cake in the middle with your fave flavor - we got the cookie dough which was TO DIE FOR.
That or Cold Stone's cake batter cake would make me happy!

CARVEL...cannot beat the chocolate crunchies!!
i think most baskin robbins cakes have a soft cake in the middle of the icecream.

I LOVE Baskin Robbins!!
I like Coyle's too - I worked there when I was a teen and made all the cakes and desserts (like Tartufo's).
Oh man - that was the best job ever. I love their ice cream!!

Re: Best Ice Cream Cake?
Well, i don't want cake in my ice cream cake But still... it all sounds so good!
I bet Turkey Hill ice cream cake would be yummy too.
All these choices are making my head spin though! I might just go a fudgie the whale because I have wanted one since I was little and have never even tasted one.
I agree that we should have a taste off!! That would be delicious!!

fudgy ROCKS I've always called in a custom order (at least 2 days ahead of time), and they're always delish...
(when you order ahead, you can ask for extra crunchies, or all vanilla or all chocolate ice cream......)
It originally was designed as a fathers day cake, but I think I'll ask for it for mothers day

TOTALLY agree with this, Coyles is awesome. And their crunchies have chocolate chips in them. The best!

I agree completely
Their Irish Cream cake is to die for! AS is their Brownie Supreme Cake - it is a must for Fathers Day every year!!
