Can I drink water during the GD test (3 hour)
I drank a lot of water during the 1 hour and my doc said I have to fast but could have water, but now I'm wondering if it is okay during the actual test??

Yes. Thank goodness to b/c to be honest I felt a little nauseous during those 3 hours. Good luck!!

No problem! Make sure you bring food or something with you to eat when you are done- just a little something. I did the test at my OB's office and could not get to the diner fast enough to eat- I felt a bit queasy.

I wasn't allowed to drink water at all after the baseline blood draw was taken. The lab tech said it would dilute the sugar drink in my blood. It was hard on me...I'd definitely recommend drinking up before the test starts just in case. GL

Oh I definitely will! Not looking forward to it, but just cant wait to get it over with! Thanks for the advise

Well, I'm gonna drink a lot before and bring some with me. I'll call my doc when I get there. I drank it during the last one and still failed so I guess it didnt dilute it enough-just kidding!!!!

I was also told no water AT ALL. They actual stressed that they would make me take the test over if I drank anything or threw up. I would ask the people before just to make sure.

I didn't have the 3 hour test yet - have a strong feeling I will, but during my 1 hr test I was told by the lab tech I could not drink water at all as it would dilute the results.

I wasn't allowed to drink water during the test at all either time I took it (per the labs rules - and I took it at 2 different places - once at the hospital and once at lab corp).

I drank a TON of water during mine...
They made me pee every hour too so if I didnt drink the water there is no way I would be able to pee!!!

I had to do both the 1 and 3 hour tests TWICE during this pregnancy and was told absolutely NO water at all after I drank the drink. Both 1-hours were done in my doctor's office and the 3-hours were done in 2 separate labs.
