Can I get away with a travel swing instead...
of a full-size one? The less equipment, the better.

Only thing with travel swings, I don't think they swing side-to-side like the regular swings...for me, that wouldn't have worked. My son only liked to swing side to side!

We only had the travel swing and it worked fine -- I guess it depends on the baby. Maybe just start with the travel and get a full size swing later if you think you need it.

Re: Can I get away with a travel swing instead...
its funny I tried the same thing only the travel but DD hated it we tried a full swing at a friends house and she loved it and it has been a lifesaver ever since
I guess it all depends on the baby

I have both, the Papasan and the FP travel swing- DS likes the travel swing better because of the cool lights.

We have a travel swing and it was all we needed. They don't take up a lot of room and you can move it from room to room. It's great!

I only have a travel swing and it's fine. The less space stuff takes up the better. I don't even like to put DD in the swing anyway, I feel like I'm ignoring her.
