Can I introduce Peanut Butter
to DD? SHe's 13 months old and had a RAST test and it says she's NOT allergic to any nuts. Do you think it would be ok to give her some?

Andrew had it around 14-15 months and had no problems. He loves it. It is actually now his favorite thing.

its a blood test for allergies. The ped wanted to confirm DD's milk allergy and tested for Soy, Wheat, Berries and Nuts while they were already drawing blood. The tests state she has no allergies other than milk.

Interesting, I didn't know they could do allergy tests this young.

They did it at 10 months - not sure what the earliest is though.

My DS's allergist told us that if the child already has one allergy (in my son's case milk too) that you show wait until they are three at the earliest to intorduce any of the other top 8 allergens if they haven't had them already.
We are waiting until DS is 3 to try peanuts, tree nuts, fish and shellfish. He's ok with wheat, soy, and eggs.
My son's blood test have come back negative for milk yet he is still allergic when he gets a challenge test in the allergists office. A challenge test is when the doctor gives the child increasing amount of the suspected allergen and then waits to see if there is a reaction.
Id'call your child's allergist to be sure before introducing a known food allergen.
