Can I vent for a moment?

I think I'm going to lose my mind.

My DD has slept a total of 1/2 hour today. She got up at 7:30. Took a 20-minute nap at 9 and a 10-minute nap at 2. She is BESIDE herself and is still refusing to go down for a nap.

To make matters worse, we came home from shopping and she had blown out of her diaper. My DH knows that I am at the end of my rope today, so he was nice enough to take her upstairs and change her. Since she's refusing to sleep, he just brought her downstairs to burn off some more energy.

He apparently couldn't find the pajamas that were folded in the top drawer, and DD is wearing the pajama set that I had bought to give to a friend of mine as a gift Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon

It's just one of those days. I don't know what to do do about DD's sleep habits anymore, and I think that just put me over the edge. The pajamas that he put on her are size 6 months, and they are VERY obviously too small on her. But he already took the tags off. I know it was nice of him to take on the task of changing her, but I want to scream right now. Chat Icon

Thank you Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon We have tried CIO for naps. But every time she has to CIO for naps or for bedtime, she doesn't sleep soundly. Case and point: We just put her down for the night about 1/2 hour ago. She had to CIO because she was SOOOO far gone. DH just had to go in there because she started hysterically crying after being asleep for just 20 minutes Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon

Our biggest issue is that I had to go back to work in August. I had her on a VERY good sleep schedule at the end of the summer, but when school started back up, she started daycare. She does NOT sleep well at daycare, no matter how hard they try. She is just too interested in what's going on.

I know that the lack of naps on the weekends is due to the fact that in her mind, she's merely keeping a schedule that's consistent with the (awful) one she has during the week.

I just feel like such a failure as a mom, because if I could quit my job tomorrow in order to fix this, I would. Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon

Re: Can I vent for a moment?

I am in the same boat somewhat...DD sleeps not so good at the babysitter...I think it would be worse at a daycare b/c she needs quiet time and her sound machine...at a daycare I think she wouldn't nap...she usually makes up for it at home on the weekends but this weekend not so much...If I were you I would try for 3 naps on the weekend..even if she cries be consistent at that age, since DD slept so much less at the babysitter I would give her a 3rd nap until 13 months....can you try that? Maybe at 12:30 or 1?
