Re: can someone help? got results from genetic tests
I'm so sorry for your lost. Its called a tripliody pregnancy. This is what I had with my first pregnancy. There isn't much research on it but it's not genetic and you can't be a carrier or anything like that. In other words you don't have an increased chance of it happening again. It is believed to happen when an egg is fertilized by two sperm or the egg doesn't divide correctly. Its very rare . I will try to answer any questions you have.

Wowser sorry to hear that. I also know someone who had this type of miscarriage, actually recently within the year. It was a very sad story as she was half way there. She also had a girl. I know that their dr. also said that it's not genetic and the possibility of it occuring again is very slim.

My miscarriage was a result of triploidy also. We opted not to find out the sex. My RE told me it's basically a fluke and the chances of it happening twice are very slim. He also told me to focus on the fact that I was able to get pregnant (I got pregnant on my fourth iui) and the good news is he was confident I would get pregnant again.
I am so sorry. Miscarriage is never fair but on top of IF, I felt like I was suffocating when we lost the baby. I had seen a heartbeat at 7 weeks and then at 10 weeks it was gone. I still can't get the image out of my head.
Re: can someone help? got results from genetic tests
I hope this gives you a small comfort in knowing that there was nothing you did to cause the miscarriage (even though it is rarely the case that anyone did something to cause a miscarriage this just affirms that) AND that the scientific reason it happened was something exceptionally rare and unlikely to happen again.
Re: can someone help? got results from genetic tests
We knew the cause of my loss and how rare it was- but that in a way made it harder because it emphasized just how unlucky I was!
You proved you CAN get pregnant though and you WILL get through this and be pregnant again! I am so confident of that! You are in terrific hands with Dr.B!
