Re: Can someone help me plan my Rome Itinerary? I really have no clue
Campo de Fiori, Piazza Navona, the Pantheon, Trevi Fountain and Spanish Steps can all be done in a day without a doubt. The first 4 are within walking distance and the Spanish Steps are also close or about 1 metro stop away. You don't really need a lot of time to "see" these places. But you'll probably want to walk around, take it all in , check out the shops, eat and just enjoy. Lots of great shopping around these areas and some very delicious gelato near the Spanish Steps.
I'd give yourself plenty of time for St. Peter's and the Vatican. There is sometimes a line to get in to the basilica. And if you're planning on checking out the Vatican Museum (TONS to see), you'll need at the very least a couple of hours. Also, you can check out the Castel Sant'Angelo which is a short walk away from St. Peter's Square.
I'd spend another day checking out the Colosseum and Roman Forum. From there you can also head to Capitoline Hill and the Monument to Victor Emmanuel if you're interested.
So much to see and do in Rome - bring comfortable shoes. Enjoy!!!

I totally agree with above poster. So essentially you can do it in three days, which is a little less than you have.
Also they sell "skip the line" tickets for the Vatican &St. Peter's. I think they are @ 50 euro. I HIGHLY suggest you get them. People waiting on line fr 5-6 hrs or longer while we breezed in, in 5 minutes SO worth it

Your welcome
Of course if you pay for a tour you will prob skip the line with the tour. DH and I preferred to see these at our lesiure so the skip the line pass worked like a charm. I believe the site is viator.com

DEF order your colleseum tickets online in advance.
THe LINE IS LOOOOOOONG!
We ordered the day before, actually from our hotel in spain and couldn't even print out our confirm number, I wrote it down on a sheet of paper.
When we got there, there must have been over 100 people in line, we walked right up to the window gave her our name and off we went. Saved at least an hour or 2 of standing.
Just google it and the site will come up.
There is a really yummy restaurant near the Spanish Steps called Aurora 10 - check it out, it is seafood place but my husband claims eating the buccatini amatriciania there was the best moment of his life.

Re: Can someone help me plan my Rome Itinerary? I really have no clue
Ok this is long...but this is what we did.......or what I recommend...
Oh 1st thing - try to get to the Trastavere area...it's a bit out of the way but there are amazing restaurants there! I also like Piazza Navona area to eat - like not right in the square but close streets.
OK here is what we did in 3 days...(sorry so long)
Day 1: Colosseum, Palantine Hill, Roman Forum (picked up a cheap tour right outside the Colosseum – was about 3 hours – didn’t love the tour) Note – we did the below things on day 2 but they are right near the Colosseum so try to see them (if you want) Circus Maximus (grassy field where chariot races were, not much to see) Mouth of Truth is a pretty popular tourist attraction but not that exciting Walked by Il Vittoriano and Piazza Venezia Lunch near Republicca metro stop Panteon Trevi Fountain Cappuchin Crypt - Santa Maria della Concezione (display of 10,000 skeletons – pretty cool to see!) It is right near the Barberini subway station Spanish Steps Trinita Dei Monti (church at top of Spanish Steps) Walked down Via Condutti – all the high end shops Dinner near Spanish Steps at a place recommended to us, was ok Walked around Trevi Fountain area and Spanish steps again to people watch and have gelato
Day 2: Pre-booked Vatican Tour at 11:00am (Vatican Museum, Sistine Chapel, St. Peter’s Basilica) Lunch near the Vatican (very touristy over there but we were starving) Castel Sant Angelo (did not go in) Did other things listed above on Day 1 which were out of the way to get to I am not listing them here Took nap because I was exhausted Ate dinner in a cute neighborhood near our hotel
Day 3: Slept in till 10ish, so tired Took bus to Trastavere area – very cute, wandered around, saw Santa Maria Church Ate lunch at small mom & pop place which was delicious: Baccanale Walked around some more, then took subway to Piazza del Popplo Walked down Via del Corso and shopped Later on we went to Piazza Navona area, walked around, had dinner at Cul De Sac which was amazing! Great wines, cheese, lasagna, etc. Highly recommend this place, my friend told me about it and it was written up in Rick Steve’s book. Get there early though bc there is usually a wait. We sat outside which was a bit tight but just sit inside if you cannot get a seat outdoors. Overall this area had a ton of bars and restaurants, very fun.
