can someone tell me what braxton hicks feels like?
i didn't think anything of this until i saw mikeswife's post...
i have noticed a couple of times i the past two weeks that my belly got very hard - but i didn't feel anything really, not a cramp or a contraction, it just felt *strange* and when i touched my stomach my uterus was very hard. is that BH or am i delusional?

A braxton hick feels like your tummy tightens all around (almost like a cramp) and then it stays like that for about a 1 minute or so and then it just goes away.

That sounds like BH to me! I've been getting them quite a bit too, my stomach will get very hard and then it will go "soft" again. They last about a minute.
My doctor said that if I got 4 in an hour to give them a call.

Exactly. Plus, it feels like I have to go #2 when I get BH.

That's exactly what it feels like. You shouldn't really become concerned as this is just your body preparing for delivery however my doctor told me if they are 10 minutes apart consistently and last for 45 seconds at a time than you should definitely head over to L&D to get monitored.

When I get them my whole stomach tightens and stays like that for about a minute..it has the feeling of a menstrual cramp..
