Can toddlers have Egg Beaters?

We don't have eggs in our house and typically eat Egg Beaters. Is this something DS should stay away from? Should I do egg yolks first, then try egg whites, then possibly move on to Egg Beaters? It seems silly to make something for him when ours seems so similar.

I can't answer about egg beaters but I just gave Hayley a scrambled egg, I never seperated the yolk from the egg whites.

The white part of the egg is the part that is the allergen because that's where the protein is. I think egg beaters are mostly egg whites. I'm also not sure if there's that much nutritional value in egg whites.

Re: Can toddlers have Egg Beaters?

I asked my PED the same question. She said before 1- no because egg beaters are made with egg whites (which aren't recommended before age 1). After 12 months, it's "ok", but that babies need high fat in their diets until age 2- so a whole egg is better.
