Can we do a 16 Mth old check in (and around that age)

Alyson was 22 lbs 9 oz and 31 inches long--50% for both and her head is still small.

Got 2 shots...not a tear! My Trooper.

She is walking better and more each day, handling utensils well (sometimes she refuses to eat without them), says lots of words and can respond to requests (like putting something away if she takes it out).

She recognizes people and characters, enjoys dancing to a good beat and still does not like to be confined! Not climbing out of the crib just yet, thankfully.

She can sort things, is starting to stack her peek a boo blocks, and LOVES to read. She is VERY Friendly in saying HI to everyone, but physical contact she is still a little unsure of. She throws a ball well and is starting to roll over/climb over things like a gymnast! Not a picky eater either....and will eat every 1 1/2 hrs (mostly fruit in between meals).

Totally off the bottle since 14 1/2 months old when she was sick with the stomach bug and still uses the binky to sleep. We'll ditch that when we feel she's ready for it.

Bedtime is still 7-7:30pm, some days close to 8 and sleeps 12-13 hrs at night with 1 nap which is normally 2 hours long, sometimes a tad longer.

She is wearing 12 months still in the brnads that run big (Carter's) and 12-18/18 in others (Sonoma, Old Navy). Shoe size was a 4 1/2 but we bought a 5W when we had her measured last week.

Re: Can we do a 16 Mth old check in (and around that age)

DD is 16 months, 2 weeks.

Running, climbing stairs, being miss independent...

Eating well except for veggies. We have been working on using the spoon & fork but she would rather pick up food with her fingers.

Blows kisses, gives hugs and kisses. Understand hello & bye and uses them with a wave. Stacks blocks, gives her toys hugs and back pats. Loves to sit in her Elmo chair for about 10 seconds. I think she likes tha fact that she CAN sit but doesn't want to stay seated. She has been imitating Mommy on the phone- she will hold her play phone up to her ear ( or any toy that she can hold in her hand!) and will babble, pause and then babble....Chat Icon
She is turning into such a girly girl- putting her hats on and then posing in the mirror. She actually took our coffee table runner off and wears it like a shawl and also poses. Plays "ballerina" by spinning around when music is on. She spins and spins and then falls down!

Good sleeper. Asleep by 7 but is up with the birds around 6AM. Chat Icon
2 naps at home- 9Am & 1PM about an hour to 90 minutes each. Takes only one nap at day care for about 90 minutes. I think our morning nap is phasing out. Boy, am I going to miss that!!!Chat Icon

Jacob is 16 months.. walking/running everywhere, falling down every 5 min and getting hurt! Climbing on/into everything, and falling down and getting hurt! Chat Icon

I need 100 sets of eyes with him, because he is so mischevious... was halfway up the steps before I even realized the gate wasnt there! Chat Icon

He eats horribly, always did. Breakfast is the only good meal, the rest of the day is a wash. Last Dr. visit at 15 months he weighed 21 lbs. He does like pizza, and pastina, bananans, and apples. That about sums the meals up. Oh yeah, and bread with butter.

Anyhoo, still gets 2-3 bottles a day, mostly just because I still give them to him. He could care less if he ever saw the bottle again. I am not ready to part with them. Chat Icon The rest of the day he walks around with juice/water in his sippy cup. He stopped with the binky at like 7 mths old and never wanted it again.

Sleeps from 8pm-7am every day. One nap around noon everyday that lasts anywhere from 40 min to 2 hrs. It varies.

Doesnt talk at all.. just babbles. Said Mommy and Daddy today once, but i just think that was a fluke. Early Intervention is coming next week for an eval. Loves to watch Elmo and Barney. Not much of a toy player, would rather try to climb something and fall and cry. Or throw CD's in the toilet. Chat Icon

He does give delish kisses when I ask for one. He understands very minimal things. And not consistent at all. Thats about it on this end.. Chat Icon

Olivia is 15 months 3 weeks old
weights 20lbs 13 oz and is 31 inches long

she has been walking since 13 months and now runs all the time.
she is a very active and chatty little girl. Can say about 20-25 consistant words.

Eats very well and loves everything. Favorite veggie - broccoli
fruit-cantalop and bananas

we taught her to say the word cookie and she calls crackers and cookies ( cookies) we call raisins candy too

still uses a bottle for milk morning afternoon nap and night.

associates the sippy cup with water and juice

Olivia has 6 teeth now and eats like she has them all

bedtime is between 8-830 and wakes at 730-8

we do not watch too much tv maybe every other day and no more than 1 hour some weeks we dont watch it for 3-4 days becuase we keep busy

we go to 4 playgroups. giving ourselves 1-2 days off during the week to do nothing or shop

Olivia loves to kiss- she kissed a boy at playgroup the other day and daddy was mad

she waives hello and good bye, blows kisses- very much a girly girl. loves her dolly and her purse.

wears size 12-18 months mostly and is a size 5 shoe.

we try to read to her but she still is so distracted but when she plays by herself she looks at the books. we are lucky to get one book read to her a night.

tv we watch handy manny, sesame street, jacks big music show, little einsteins, wonder pets. or whatever mommy feels is appropriate. once in a while we catch american idol on dvr.

Olivia climbs stairs and goes back down on her belly. She also has very bad seperation anxiety. i cannot go to the bathroom without her being with me. she doesnt like to go to dh too much but is great with my mom.

forgot to add that we are starting potty training early. Olivia likes to tell me when she poops. so we have been putting her on the potty for pooping and she did it 3 times. next step it to wean her off of the pacifier.

Great post!

Carlie just turned 16 months last week. At her last visit last month she was 21 pounds and 30 1/2 inches. She wears a 4WW shoe. She has fat littel feet.

She has been walkings since 13 months and is starting to run and climb on everything.

Carlie has become a very picky eater. She seems to eat most things at daycare, but dinner is a struggle most nights. She loves chiken nuggets and eggs. Bananas are a favorite too.

Carlies says about 60 words. She is very chatty. She knows her body parts (eyes, ears, hands, nose, mouth, etc.) the names for a lot of bugs (thanks to daddy) and knows her animals and their sounds.

She has been on a sippy cup since she turn 1. She LOVES her milk.

She goes to bed between 8-8:30 and sleeps uptil 6:30-7.

Carlie loves her binky, although we try not to give it to her during the day. I am hoping to get rid of it entirely this summer. We will see how that goes.

Overall she is a very sweet and caring little girl , but has does have a little temper. She also is very strong-willed.

Clothing wise she weares either 12-18 month or 18-24 months depending on the brand.

Re: Can we do a 16 Mth old check in (and around that age)

My DD is just 15 mths.

She only says 2-3 words but babbles all day long and gesticulates with her hands all the time especially after a nap or if she was out with my DH without me...like she has so many stories to tell me... I wonder should I be worried that she only has a couple of words? She understands a lot...I ask if she would like a story, she gets the book etc, I tell her to read a story to her dolly and she does that.

She is always giving kisses and hugs...wraps her little arms around my neck and tickles my neck..she has started to give me kisses this week without I asking for them...so sweet.

She has been walking since 11mths and is practically running now, she climbs on everything, loves stairs boxes etc.

She is very strong and only weighs 21lbs...I nearly died the other day when she handed me a 6lb dumbell!!!

She is a picky eater, she eats oatmeal and banana for breakfast, toast and hummus with blueberries for lunch, yo baby and fruit for snacks and sweet potato and peas are her fave dinner things...she eats tofu but doesnt know it as I hide it in her s. potato.

She LOVES he signing dvd and can sign three things already.

She loves being outside and loves animals.

She is a terrbile sleeper but I Am still BF so that is probably contributing to that. Sleep usually around 9pm but wakes several times a night and then is usually up for the day by 7-7.30. One nap a day for 1 1/2.

Overall she is a complete joy and I love every inch of herChat Icon

Yay! I get to play this game too!!

I have no idea of how big Noah is, but he probably weighs around 25 lbs and he is sort of average size, but on the smaller size. His hair alone probably weighs about 3 lbs. Its a big head of hair. A big old melon of blondy hair.

He is walking, running, climbing, crawling, falling, going up, going down...he is very active. He does not sit still for a second! He has a ride on car that he loves to ride around the house and he loves to play with his remote control for the television. He has no interest in watching television at all, he would rather bang on the TV with his rubber balls. He loves a kickabout with the football and he has a BIG group of friends who he loves to play with. He also loves to push a doll around in a stroller, and we are okay with that! He is in touch with himself.

He is an okay eater, he eats everything they give him at nursery, he will NOT let you feed him, he eats with a fork and a spoon (and my table has one billion dents in it to show for that!) he usually eats whatever we eat, and his favorites are Salmon Fish Cakes, Filled Tortellini with Tomato sauce, pasta tuna bake, but his true favorite, and his Friday night treat is...scrambled eggs with cheese!!!

He can follow simple directions, like Noah, can I have that please, or Put that on the table etc. He knows what he does and does not want and usually follows what he does not want with the screaming abdabs!

He still has 2/3 cups of milk a day and only has a bottle at bedtime, thats purely me being selfish, I do not want to lose that cuddle.

Strangely enough, Noah can wear clothes in all sizes, from 6 to 18 months, depending on the brand.

He does to bed at around 7.30 and usually sleeps until around 6.30/7 am. That suits us fine!

He loves daycare but still cries for a minute when I drop him off in the morning. All in all, he is an absolute JOY and we love him to bits!!!!!

Re: Can we do a 16 Mth old check in (and around that age)

Sydney turned 16 months yesterday. She is my oompa loompa - weighs 25lbs and is 32 inches tall. Her clothes vary from 12-24 months mostly b/c of her budda belly.
She loves to eat! There is nothing she doesnt like but does like fruits/veggies better than meat - just like her mommy. She takes about 12oz milk/day from the sippy cup.
Will take a 2hour nap sometimes at daycare but never has gone that long for me. Night time she usually sleeps from 730-6.
She loves to walk and play with everything but her toys! Especially the phone. One of her favorite thing to do is to empty containers and fill them back up again. She also loves her books and "reading".
She doesnt say that many words but understands everything. She got tubes in her ears on the 18th and at yesterday's follow-up they said her hearing is already improving. She says hi, bye, ball, up, yeah, nah (no), momma, dada, dog, more, and dat (that).
I am really enjoying this age...she is so much fun.

I am so excited to share! Logan was 31 and 1/2 inches and 27 lbs. at his last checkup (15 months), and he has GIANT feet..6 1/2 XW in Stride Rite. He is pretty much what I call "the Tasmanian Devil" he is ALL boy, super active, quite the climber, and is into any kind of transportation (trains, airplanes, etc.)
He hasn't had a bottle since 13 months, but he does have his "boo" (binky) at bedtimeChat Icon (mom is a speech therapist) He is a great eater, although I am starting to notice more preferences.
He says a variety of words, some two word phrases, and can answer yes or no consistently. He follows a lot of direction, he is currently in "big brother training"...Get mommy a diaper please, put this in the garbage please...etc. I just hope he is that cooperative when the time comes!
We've been having a lot of meltdowns when he doesn;t get his way. He is very definite about things that he wants such as car keys, his music, mickey mouse clubhouse toys, etc. He likes to play in his little tikes house outside and could stay outside all day digging in the dirt, picking up rocks, etc.
His sleep has vastly improved over the last month. Bedtime is 8:00-8:30 to 6:30-7. He naps one short nap in the am (1/2 hour) and one long one in the pm (1 1/2 hours) USUALLY.

Re: Can we do a 16 Mth old check in (and around that age)

17 months here and she amazes me on a daily basis with the stuff she comes out with that I know I didn't teach her!

Still not sleeping well, wakes up crying a lot and is up for good usually anywhere from 4-5:30 amChat Icon She goes to bed at about 8:30. She takes one nap a day during the week, 2 on weekends depending on what we are doing. Her nap is only abou an hour or so.

Not walking yet but getting close. She is focusing all her energy on talking, singing. I can't count all her words there are so many and she repeats everything. She also understands pretty much everything, to the point where we have to be extremely careful what we say in front of her. She sings along with most of the right words to her favorite songs (old Mcdonald, doe a deer) and loves to dance, it is too cute.
She loves the ABC's and sings it all the time. She messes up a lot of the letters but gets a lot of them right, too.

She is a pretty good eater which is nice. I have not had her weighed or measured since her 15 month check up but she is wearing some 12 month clothes still, a lot of 18-24 months also.
