Prob not.
But I have been.
We have one of those hormel platters with the sausage and pepperoni and damn I love the sausage slices....

I was told by my ob no to all cold cuts so I stayed away to everything including pepperoni and salami

Mine said cold cuts are fine in moderation and from a reputable source. I don't eat that stuff anyway, but I think I'd be concerned about the nitrates so I'd try to limit it.

I little salami won't hurt ya! I had cold cuts occasionally and I ate pepperoni pizza all the time. DD is fine.

Jeez I can't BELIEVE I totally forgot
I mean I eat tuna maybe once a month and I avoid cold cuts and drink two or three sips of coffee occasionally but i completely forgot that salami and all that crap is off limits. I had maybe ten slices since Christmas and a few pigs in blankets
Can't. Believe. It.

Don't beat yourself up. I just wouldn't make it a continously habit of eating hot dogs or cold cuts.

I also a ton of bacon. A ton. Nothing like a bacon egg sandwich to make a pregnant lady happy.

Its not "off limits".
I ate cold cuts daily. Like almost every single day. I ate hot dogs constantly. And salami and pepperoni.
I drank coffee every day...that was actually doctors orders because I had kidney stones and he wanted caffeine in me as a diuretic.
I had Splenda in that coffee too.
Oh and Get ready to faint...I drank wine on occasion.  
Call the police. 
DD is more than fine.
Not sure what a few slices of salami off a Hormel platter would do. A few slices of anything won't do any harm. Unless it's rotted .
My doctor forbid nothing and refused to even discuss anything "off limits" he just said...use common sense.
Unless you are shoveling 5 lbs of pepperoni down your gullet every day for 9 months, I wouldn't stress

thank you for this! i definitely break the "rules" when it comes to food to avoid when pregnant. I ate cold cuts during my last pregnancy and i'm sure i'll do it again this pregnancy.
i ate pepperoni and salami during the holiday weekend and i honestly didn't even think twice about it.
i just try to use common sense. Don't eat it from a dirty looking place or from a platter that has been sitting out.

If you're being strict, no, you should not have salami. One reason is the nitrates. The second (and the reason to avoid all cold cuts) is the chance of listeria. So eating it in moderation has no bearing on this. If you eat it just once, and that one serving is contaminated, then you're out of luck. Listeria is especially dangerous to unborn babies. However, it's recommended that if you do want to eat cold cuts, you warm it until it's steaming hot (165 degrees).

Exactly. I have not heard of one recent outbreak of listeria in any form of cold cuts. However, listeria has been rampant in fruits, veges, salads, ice cream, hummus, frozen pizza, frozen veges, eggo waffles, quaker granola bars, the list goes on.
Not sure why they single out cold cuts when they seem to actually be the safest.

I ate bacon almost everyday. The salt helped my MS. I asked my OB and her response was "um, are you eating it raw? No? Then eat as much bacon as you want." Also said cold cuts were fine and listeria can be in anything.

I've been eating cold cuts on occasion this pregnancy. Always go to a clean, reputable deli. In moderation it's fine.

My ob didnt say "no" to anything besides sushi. He said pretty much anything in moderation is fine. I dont really understand the cold cut hysteria with pregnancy though. If they are afraid of the listeria wouldnt a lot of other items be on the "no" list then? There has been so many other foods linked with it recently and none of them cold cuts

I wish someone could answer this too. But nobody can.
Hummus always has listeria outbreaks it seems as does bagged salad. Yet nobody panics about eating some Sabra or a bag of Dole

My dr told me to eat anything I want in moderation as long as it's from a reputable place that I've never gotten sick from. Having a turkey sandwich now and I had sushi the other day.
