Can we help a fellow mom out - Secretbabymaker - Moms please come in 6/10

So, I just heard back from Catherine and told her I have been getting a ton of FMs about people wanting to help her.

She did mention that she hasn't been cooking or anything since she wants to spend every minute with Sophia.

I would like to make a couple of meals and bring it over to her. If people don't want to cook - and maybe want to contribute - maybe I would even suggest sending my cleaning people to her house for a day. Even giftcards would be amazing. ANYTHING we can do to help them out!!!

Would anyone be interested in making some meals - I will drop anything off - and meet anyone ANYWHERE on the island for this. I am in Seaford and she lives in N. Bellmore!

Once I know who is interested I will make up some sort of schedule so she isn't bombarded with a ton of things at once.

Instead of waiting for Catherine to get back to me I thought of a few places in the area that you could get GCs at:

If you didn't want to do to a specific and if an Amex/Visa GC may be easier for people.

Update 5/8/09

Well - Where do I even begin? First off I wanted to let everyone know that I have been in contact with a few of the Suffolk moms and they will be making some things for me to bring to Catherine and her family next week. I will be going through the list I have over the next couple of weeks so don't think I have forgotten anyone, I just don't want to bury them in 12 trays of ziti and one time.

AND - I am so so so excited to announce that Maid Brigade - one of the LIF Vendors will be donating monthly cleaning services to them. I have to thank Eddiesmommy 150% for this. Melissa - you are AMAZING - thank you thank you thank you! And, there are also some other wonderful moms on here who are passing around flyers for the fundraiser (2beans - you ROCK)

I am in awe of the women on this site, and though we may have our ups and downs, we all come together when it truly counts, and that's the most important thing.



5/14:
I wanted to thank some of the Suffolk girls that I met up with yesterday for taking the time to cook some delicious meals for Catherine and her family

I also have to give a huge shoutout to Mommy Again (Jaime) She is working with her husband to set up another fundraiser where all proceeds will go to the family. Her husband is shooting them today for Channel 10 (I believe - I will give details once Catherine gives them to me) - and she put together this amazing care package for them! TRULY TRULY AMAZING!

And, many thanks to those sending gift cards - I have passed the ones I received so far along to the family! Thank you Thank you Thank you!

I will be getting in touch with some moms early next week for the second round of cooking! THanks to everyone!

Any Nassau moms around to do some cooking this week? Please FM me! I believe I have a few lined up but would love to get a bunch of stuff over to her this week.

It's been awhile bc I was sick for the last two weeks (and then Jack was sick) but I want to get the food train up again.

I haven't been home in weeks so there is no way I can cook. Can I mail you a gift card for a restuarant that has food to go, like Chilis? What do you think?

I def would be willing to do something. I don't know how to make a ton of stuff but I could make a lasagna or chicken francaise or just plain chicken cutlets. Just let me know...my ILs live in Wantagh and we drop Kaydyn off there every day.

I would like to contribute something, although I'm not sure what yet since I'm not that great of a cook! I'm good at baking though...maybe some breakfast foods..muffins, banana bread, etc.?

I can cook a meal- and drop it off anywhere, anytime.

I'm totally in- if a gift card is better I'm up for that as well!

I remember how so many wonderful moms helped me and it meant so much to me.

I live in NJ, but am coming out to LI next Sunday (5/17)...I could bring something and drop it off on my way. Please FM an address!

For any of the other NJ girls...if anyone wants me to take something out to LI with me, you can drop it off by me or we can make arrangements to meet in NJ somewhere to coordinate!

I'll cook! I'm making some trays of lasagna and ziti and chicken cutlets for a party this weekend, so it will be no problem to make an extra tray or two! I can even drop off, just let me know the next step!
