Re: Can we talk Christmas/Holiday Gifts?

I have no clue what we're going to get the kids this year. Kaylee will be able to play with a lot of Christopher's old toys and Christopher has a LOT of stuff already. I'm going to have to do some searching.

I do have to agree that a shopping cart is a great gift. We have a leap frog one and there are tons of little food items that go in it with a scanner and when you put the food in front of the scanner it actually says "3 bananas" and stuff like that.

Before we put the batteries in it she even loved to just use it as a walker-toy.

And I'm sure that as she grows she'll put her dolls in it and walk around.

Trying to convince Dad that she needs a kitchen set...hmmm.........is it too soon? What do you all think? It probably is, she only just turned 1.

Where did you get a leap frog cart?

We were going to do the kitchen but decided to wait until next year but since Emily is walking on her own it might be just fine for her.

We actually found it at a yard sale for $5 - brand new still in the unopened box!!

I'll post a pic of it so you can see which one it is - maybe it's out there in ebay land somewhere!

Re: Can we talk Christmas/Holiday Gifts?

WE havent even started on this yet Chat Icon we're just getting over birthday overload Chat Icon

Trish- my boys LOVE kitchen stuff, Im glad John and I are NOT beleivers of "boy vs girl" toys. whatever makes them happy. When I sub, I see boys and girls play everywhere, esp the younger ages. (although the blocks are always more boys, lol). but the kitchens are always so popular with everyone.

John Anthonys hottest gift for his birthday was a really cool cash register from grandma. Its a "working" one, that scans all the items, says the dollar amount, has bills and coins. He has a new superman wallet from a friends goody bag, and also has the shopping cart, and is obsessed with doing math, knowing prices, counting and exchanging money (our supermarket trips take forever now!). This obsession might last throughout the holidays so we wont even have to get anything Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon

Re: Can we talk Christmas/Holiday Gifts?

I just ordered Ava a beautiful doll house on dollhousesgalore.com. I recently got her an elmo toy- it is sort of like a sing-along thing with a microphone. We already have tons of toys, books and clothes, so I will be taking it easy this year.

************Oh I almost forgot*****
Everyday for the past 2 months she has been saying- "When I sit on Santas yap (lap) I tell him I need Barbie who cleans the puppy poop."

Yes, that's right..Soooo gross. It is a Barbie who comes with a pooper scooper, a dog and his food. You put the food in his mouth (little brown pellets) then pull on his tail- he then poops....I already bought it and I gave it to her- beacuse all of us adults wanted to see how it worked EEEEEWWW!!!
