Can we talk getting up a lot when 1st going to bed with newly trained?
DD#1 recently trained. After lots of failed attempts she just decided 3 weeks ago she was ready and after 1 bad day with multiple accidents has been accident free since day 2.
After about 5 days of staying dry she announced she no longer wants to wear overnight pull ups either. Great! She has been staying 100% dry they are gone.
Here is the issue: Now it takes us more than an hour to go to bed. We used to do a bath, brush teeth, then to bed for a couple of stories. Now that she is rid of the pull ups she is getting up and going potty 3-5 times before she falls asleep.
This has been our routine for a long time. She would always happily get into bed and would STAY there.
Now she gets in bed and says - I have to go potty - goes, comes back - gets her stories, then she has to go again, and again and again. This is after her door has been closed and the lights turned off. She comes and opens our door and says I have to go potty and then runs to the bathroom- goes and hops back in bed. She IS going each time. It is getting ridiculous. She is not talking to us when she gets up other to tell us she is going and that she went -then she just goes back to her room and goes back to bed.
I guess I'm not sure if she is just suddenly stalling when she didn't used to or if this is just b/c she is newly trained this month. If it is normal is there anything I can do about it? We get a late start as it is b.c DH would like to spend a little time with the girls at night and that might not last much longer- but this is getting ridiculous! I can't have her going to bed this late. BTW she is not getting up middle of night to pee and I stop all liquids 1.5 hours before bed.
Help if you are still reading!

I would think that those liquids she had even 1.5 hours before bed make her need to pee at that time......
.....MAYBE she is going so many times because she feels the need even a little bit....so better to get it out then instead of letting it build up.

Usually she is going 2-3 times pee and sometimes 1 time poop. She is still in that OMG mommy I went x every single time she goes. I thought it would have worn old by now but apparently not
I just wondered it is a temporary thing or if I have to change our entire nighttime routine to accommodate for it - b.c I don't want her to lose out on her story time but it is making bedtime too late now.

When DS first potty trained he would wake up in the middle of the night to pee multiple times. Not when he first went to sleep but, he would wake up during the night. It drove me nuts! But, within a short time (can't remember how long but maybe a week or two at the most) he stopped. Now he RARELY gets up to pee - maybe once every few weeks. I guess they just learn to hold it in or become less nervous of having an accident.

But she isn't waking she sleeps the whole night through - she is just getting up multiple time before she goes to sleep. She is doing it at nap time too - she gets up like 3 times at nap so she is barely napping now.
