Can you all help me plan DS 1st B-day on a budget?
DS will be one next month and we want to have a little something here at the house....some family and friends/neighbors.
It'll be warm, so we'll be outdoors for the most part.
I was thinking a carnival theme...bright colors, bubbles, balloons, etc.

A carnival theme is cute! You could buy a big bag of popcorn and put them in those popcorn bags and hand them out.

If you are on a budget then I def. wouldn't go crazy.
Get a few pizza's Some chips and dip Cake from Costco or BJs (whatever you have in GA) Balloons Bubbles Balls
Depending on how old the kids who are invited are - maybe you get some hoola hoops?
Do you have a little pool for the little ones? Slip and slide?
Even if you have a small playset from Alyson I'm sure that will keep the kids busy!

It's a good idea but popcorn is a choking hazard so I wouldn't do it if their will be toddlers and infants their.
I agree with what everything Diana suggested. I saw those kiddie pools at BRU 2 weeks ago for $5.99. Bubbles will keep the kids busy for a long time. Also what about some outside chalk for the olders one.

The Dollar Store is your friend with decorations, fun stuff for grab bags, etc.
We really didn't spend anything on DD 1st Bday.

Keep in mind, a 1 year b-day party is for the adults (and any older kids that are there). No need to go overboard.
What age are the kids going to be (besides DS, of course....)? If there aren't too many kids, you can have it geared towards the adults. If there are kids, I would focus it on the age of the other kids. DS is going to have a great time just because there are a lot of people there. He won't understand that it's a party for his b-day.

Dollar Tree has a lot of circus type decorations and trinkets.....they can easily be used for a carnival!
