Can you critique my 1st birthday baseball party menu?

Please give me your opinion…good or bad…anything you would add…anything you would leave off? I left off hamburgers because they are too time consuming on the grill.

The theme is Yankee Baseball and its in my backyard in June
Appetizers:
Popcorn in little bags
Cracker jacks
Big hot pretzels
Peanuts
Sunflower seeds
Cotton candy
Some big league chew on the table (although not an appetizer lol)

Main dish
Sausage & Peppers
Pulled Pork Sliders
Chicken with peppers and onions in lemon juice
Pineapple chicken kebabs
Hot Dogs
Chili

Sides:
Tri color pasta salad
Green salad
Corn on the cob
Mediterranean pasta salad (olives, artichokes, sun dried tomatoes, feta cheese in red wine vinegar/oil/Dijon)
Pickles
Veggie salad (cut up assorted veggies, cubed mozzarella and pepperoni in Italian dressing)

Dessert:
Birthday cake
Fruit salad
Ice cream sandwiches
Drumstick ice cream cones

Drinks:
Soda/water/beer/juice boxes/coffee

I'd leave off the peanuts if you're having a lot of kids .....I'm always paranoid I'm going to set off some kid's allergy that I didn't know about !!

Otherwise, sounds delish !

Looks great! We did a baseball theme for DS's first bday also. Another suggestion would be a nacho bar. It was a big hit!

It sounds amazing!

If you want to make it a little easier on yourself you could do away with one of these salads: Mediterranean, Pasta or Veggie. I also don't think it's necessary to have ice-cream sandwiches and cones - one type should be enough.

We went to a Baseball theme party and they served icecream in those little plastic baseball hats. Thought that was cute.
They also had real soda pop

Re: Can you critique my 1st birthday baseball party menu?

I think it's a lot of food, but that's just me. As for apps I agree to pull the peanuts. For the main dish I would pull the chicken and peppers since you already have the pineapple chicken and sausage and peppers. I would also only do 1 of the pasta salads.

We had these for DS's party. DH found them at TRU. We also saw some on ebay. We do have some left over, but not a lot. Let me know if you are interested.

Re: Can you critique my 1st birthday baseball party menu?

seems i'm in the minority, but that sounds like a LOT of food!!! not to deter you, i'm sure everyone will love it! but i definitely don't think you need to add anything, everything sounds awesome.

It does sound like a lot of food but I am big on having more rather than less. I have been to way too many parties where I haven't even eaten yet and there is barely anything left. You and your family will just have dinner for plenty of days after. This is a great theme and everything sounds great!

Re: Can you critique my 1st birthday baseball party menu?

That's an awesome theme and menu. But I agree with a PP about skipping the peanuts in case of food allergies.
