Can you donate blood if you BF?
My six year old cousin has cancer and is undergoing chemotherapy at Sloan Kettering. Her mom is asking the family to donate blood or platelets if possible. I'm the same blood type as her so I'd really like to be able to donate but I just gave birth four weeks ago and I'm also BFing...does anyone know if this matters when it comes to blood donation? I'm going to call my dr tomorrow but I'd really like to know as soon as possible.

My school did a blood drive last year and my doc said I couldn't

According to the Red Cross website you have to wait 6 weeks after giving birth to donate blood.
