Can you girls help me (pain in right lower abdomin)??
We are not actively TTC, but I thought you guys may know about this pain I am having today.
I have a steady pain (feel it more when I walk or stand up) in my right lower abdomin and even a little in my right thigh (going on 7 hrs now).
I had been on BCP for 8 years and this is my first month off it so now I wonder if that has anything to do with it. I called my ob/gyn and the doctor is supposed to call me back.
I'm due for AF a week from today. Does anyone else get pain like this a week before AF? I thought ovulation was in the middle of your cycle...
TIA!

It def. could be your body adjusting to going off the pill - but the pain in your thigh doesn't make much sense to me. If you're in pain, and it's been steady for 7 hrs, I would give your doctor a call.

That's what i'm thinking.
I'm not doubled over or even close to that... but I know it's there.

Also, if it's your first month off BCP, AF may not come when expected. Your cycles may need some time to adjust. You could just be ovulating now.

That's true... I didn't even think of that. I'm so used to my cycles being every 28 days, is there something I can get that tells when i'm ovulating?

You can use OPKs, and watch your CM (cervical mucus) which many women have as O approaches. Usually your cervical mucus will go through stages in your cycle - mine is usually watery, then creamy (like lotion), then eggwhite like (stretchy) - I usually O the last day of EWCM, or the day after.

Re: Can you girls help me (pain in right lower abdomin)??
Last year I had a cyst on my right ovary and I had severe pain in my right side and pain in my thigh, but I couldn't even stand. My husband had to rush me to the hospital. I think it might be because your body needs to adjust to being off BC pills. I would still call your doctor and see what they think. Good Luck and feel better.

Re: Can you girls help me (pain in right lower abdomin)??
Thanks!! I'm still waiting for the doctor to call me back. But in the last hour the pain has diminished a lot.
I was reading about mittelschmerz... and it says it can last 6-8 hrs which seems to be right on for me. But still going to talk to my doctor to make sure.
Thanks again!

Re: Can you girls help me (pain in right lower abdomin)??
Since OPK's are so expensive I would invest in a saliva microscope. I bought one at CVS and it is called "Ovulite". It is like a mini micropscope and in the am you put a dab of saliva on there and let it dry for about 5-10 minutes. Then you look through the lens and the patterns change around the time of O to actually look fern like like frost ona window. It's pretty cool and you use it over and over and over and it was only like $35. I have had mine for 4 years now and the light in there still works. It helped me learn my cycles especially when they were unpredictable from going off BCP. Good luck, hope you're feeling better!!!!
