can you haggle/negotiate your interest rate on an existing credit card?

im going to close one that i have to find a better rate, but im wondering if the company will work with me.

any experience with this?

I have heard that you can, but I have NEVER had any luck. I have tried 3 different times.
But its worth a shot, if you are planning on closing anyway.

Ive tried and it didnt work for me. This was with my Chase Freedom mastercard.

You can call them and request it and they can look into it. I would open one at a 0% rate and transfer the balance. There are lots of good offers out there right now. Most time the credit card companies won't lower the rate but you can try

You can try, but a lot of the time they said they can only change interest rates when they check credit ratings every 6 months. I've encountered that a few times. They told me they can't deviate from their process.

And I've had the WORST luck with Chase, FTR. I have 2 cards with Chase, and 3 from other banks, and the other 3 have all lowered my rates without me asking, and Chase, which is the highest will NOT budge.
